Get a life. It may. It be right for your kid, but will be for many.
There is a significant developmental, emotional, physical and mental gap between an 05 player and an 03 player. If you are comparing as if both are on equal footing you are doing your son a grave disservice. Boys born in 03 are young men at this point much more capable of managing homework, travel and stress from training. The 05 pool of boys are 11 & 12 years old and many have not even entered middle school yet and have yet to experience the social changes that brings. Burn out is a very real possibility for many of these boys, not to measure the immense growth spurts and plateaus they will be experiencing over the next several years.

Well it would have to be center or right because the left #88 is already accepted a spot.

When the 03" entered Academy they were 12 and 13. One year difference. I am not saying its the same. What i said is have you talked to them or their families about the Academy and the environment. They answer is clearly no. You would rather jump to assumptions that fit your line of BS. Is burnout possible yes. Its also possible at the little DA level or club level. So, lets get rid of the line of BS because it does not hold water. Social changes and growth will also happen no matter where they are so thats shot down as BS. What else you got? Because your list just like you is 20lbs of BS in a 5 lb sack.

Come talk to us when your kid is 13 and he's already burnt out on Soccer and on riding in a van up to Seattle. Playing Snohomish will be so meaningful.

There you go again with you BS assumptions to fit your BS argument. Go ask families already there. Do some real research.

2005 Timbers DA tryout selections posted by number. Only 9 numbers posted for 11 v 11 field. Is that 9 total or 9 players in addition to already offered spots?

I know of three kids that were offered spots last week and accepted and none of them went to the open tryout.

I believe that these nine boys will be added to the nine that already accepted and did not need to go to tryouts.

Quick fact for you- this is not u15 academy. This team is nothing more than a DA team that will have to drive to Seattle every weekend to play other what you call little DA teams (other than crossfire and Seattle united) it is not at all the same as the academy that actually plays other MLS academy teams don't fool yourself to feel better. I am not saying it's better or worse, what I am saying is there will be a lot of wasted time for very little benefit. Training will be on par with what you can get from the da programs here based on what I have seen and experienced with older children. ONLY benefit in the current structure is getting to play a couple better teams and training with better depth of players. However the Seattle issue may completely eliminate that benefit when all is said and done. And here is what is BS- wasting an entire day to play snohomish...

You do realize you contradict yourself in your post. You said training will be on Par. Then you said except for playing better teams and depth of players training. You can't see how important those two facts are thru all you BS. That is what drives players on and speeds up development. A better training environment. The other little DA's could do the same practice but without depth of players it breaks down and does not challenge the better players. Funny how you supply the answer to contradict your own BS.

Might be other perks ... heard they get uni's and cleats and gear for free (don't know who's providing it though). Not sure that outweighs 8 hours a weekend on a bus, but who knows ...
