It's a money machine. If you'd like to dole out the cash, go for it. If your dd is good enough to make the GDA or a national team, she doesn't need rtc/odp. The rest are simply filler to fill the bank.

If you need RTC/ODP to get better training for your kid, then your club is failing you miserably.

As for the identification value of RTC/ODP, US Soccer has replaced this pathway to the national team with the GDA. But the Timbers will still keep this going as long as they can to milk as much money out of the low information folks as possible.

Very true - top boys on DA and girls on ECNL (or soon GDA) do not need ODP and wouldn't get much out of it given top players no longer. So then it moves down to the next level. The training is a joke so you don't do it for that. The best candidates are those with a pretty certain shot at making the regional pool. Otherwise you're just a check-writing practice player, which will be the bulk of the players. If your player wants to improve then get some private training/semi private with a few friends, other camps etc. Don't do ODP for training

No better way to get your name out there than to check out the other side of the fence with no commitments or accusations of jumping clubs.

No one knows yet if ECNL or GDA will be the top in 2017 or 2018. Good idea to get to know both.

Each parent needs to research to see if gaining a little knowledge or style of play is best for their DD.

Just looking at it as another camp.

I wondered how long it would take you to make this post. I've only seen it about 15 other times over the past few years. It's as if you wait for a ODP thread to go cut and paste it in.

Saying it over and over doesn't make it wrong.

As said on another post get rid of RTC training and put the time in getting the state cup team ready for competition instead of always being behind due to lack of practice's .
