Originally posted by Unregistered View PostThe league divisions are established based on geography to minimize travel. Some divisions are more competitive than others. This is nothing new. Would it be better to double or triple the travel costs so that the top 8 teams in the country are in the same division, even if they are scattered thousands of miles apart? Probably not.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostWhat is the point for Crossfire Premier currently? At least if teams had to qualify to be in the top league truly top teams would not waste half their travel playing inferior teams. If you qualified at the team level then any club would have the opportunity to place a team. As a parent I would much prefer to have meaningful travel. It does not require coast to coast travel and wouldn't likely be a problem for most Oregon teams.

Regardless, paying for travel to play teams that are way out of our league, either up or down, is not really financially fulfilling for my pocketbook.
I miss the good old days of Portland League play sometimes. Tiffany didn't need DA or ECNL, did she?

What is wrong with this model? As it is I can promise you that the truly elite teams or clubs will likely break off soon as ECNL is just a national league with lots of average to good teams and is in fact no different than FWRL or FW Retionals or USYS nationals. Right?
