Whoever is defending this is simply being a troll. There is no useful reason behind this change. OYSA even says so. It will mix a lot more grade levels which won't help anything. It will break up some teams. It will cause kids to quit because they won't get to play with friends. It will lower early enrollment because kids will be mixed up with other grades. It will cause a loss of year of play for some kids. Benefits? None.

It's a bad change.

There's no good reason for it. Just change for change sake. They spent hundreds of thousand on consultants and they have to do something to justify that cost.

Yeah. Any kid that wants to play with friends or school mates are weak and soft. It is indicative of poor parenting. You should force them to leave all their friends every 12-18 months and make new ones.

If your kid wants to play soccer to have fun, it is a reflection of poor parenting skills. You are at fault.

They should realize that they are part of something bigger. The USMNT needs this change.

Anyone who plays for enjoyment or with friends should be removed from the team, forcibly if need be.

If your kids wants to play on grade level with school friends or even have friends in soccer, they are part of the problem. This is about getting a college scholarship. Get them OUT.

We should all be honored to make strides to help the USMNT.

Anyone who questions this should be treated with great suspicion.

We realize there will be a 10%-20% drop off in numbers on girls side but by raising fees 20% there will be a larger gross profit in the long run so no worries.

If you think back to your playing days, all you will remember is the skill building drills and individual work in the garage at all hours. I bet you don't remember any of the relationships or friends.

That is what this is all about. Individual development and the pain of hard work. That is what drives kids. The dream of being better.

That is why the greatest players don't have friends and we all should strive for this for our children.

This attitude should be pounded away starting at U7.

Hurry up and make the change please. Send those end of year birthday kids to the back of the age groups. Then they can whine and whine to a whole new group of parents as their kids are forced to move to a new team.
