It will cause a loss of year of play for some kids. Benefits? None.

    It's a bad change.
It's just one guy. He's sour all the time.

Ask 100 parents about this change and 98 are against it.

We realize it will cut overall enrollment in girls side but a fee increase will offset those losses.

That's fine. US soccer only cares about the top 1%

Change is hard. It will hurt the fall kids but will help the Jan-July kids. IMO, the change isn't necessary, won't benefit the USMNT and will hurt non-national team caliber players. Should have at least been phased in starting at uLittles. That said, not the end of the world and a shake up might end up helping a lot of players. No need to panic

Petitions are useless. Especially on-line petitions.

I asked 100 parents. And none of them cared. Of course, the ones whining about this are the ones with kids born in the last three months of the year.

Good thing that US Soccer is looking out for themselves. I was worried.

So there is no good reason for this change, why are they doing it?

There are a lot of great reasons for the change. Primarily, it will shut the ignorant, bully parents up. I can't wait til next year. I've heard one too many parents encouraging their ogre daughters poor play.

There's no good reason for it. Just change for change sake. They spent hundreds of thousand on consultants and they have to do something to justify that cost.

All it's doing is moving ogres around. This won't reduce thuggery

Yes some are upset because their kids go from being some of the oldest to some of the youngest. But others are worried about the 8th grade/12th graders born in those months possibly not having tams to play on for a decent period of time. The first fear is absurd - if your kid is good they are good no matter what part of the year they were born in. And by HS it's pretty much a wash anyway. The other is an issue but one that they will hopefully address. The poor handling of all of this hasn't exactly instilled confidence
