My dd solidified two of her offers in Las Vegas a few years back and we were put into a low bracket. The only comment from the coaches was it was too bad her team wasn't playing better competition to get a better feel for her, but it still didn't stand in the way. I know the ECNL teams think that being terrible and over matched doesn't matter to them, but it does. Could be why the current Portland ECNL U16s and U15s are getting no where with colleges.

The U16 Thorns are in one of the lowest brackets. Lower then FC's B team.

CU and FCP in horribly weak flights. And still not doing well. Darn.

The Oregon teams were put in low brackets to put Oregon with similar competition. If this low competition still didn't get in the way for your dd, it won't for the current Oregon girls. Maybe the five stars on each lowly Oregon team will all get D1 offers after Vegas. If not, so what? Sunshine, fun & many college looks.

It's not a complete road block, but it doesn't help either. If a coach is time stretched and has to prioritize one player over the other chances are he'll look at a player in a better bracket - even more so if the lower brackets are inconvenient/more work to get to.

Lotta experts on here. People who've never been through the process yet who think they know what they are talking about.

Too full of ECNL parents. Since they don't have games very often and many of them are a plane ride away, they spend most of their time posting.

Ecnl is not going away. They will change to adapt to the new challenges. More teams, more games. Might not be top tier but still fun.

More fun for sure, what with being able to play HS ball. And the ECNL teams will still be better than the DA teams. Just compare ECNL to Thorns Academy in Oregon. You think you're ever going to get the next Mia Hamm out of the dumpster fire that is Thorns Academy?

                            For Portland ECNL, more losing.

ECNL Portland = dumpster fire? That's not very nice.

I think ECNL is going to expand to try to stay alive. More clubs. Boys.
