    Oregon culdesac league

imagine watching your game from your front window?
Playing your neighbors across the street.
Don't worry about the competition, because you don't have to leave your neighborhood

I love this description . . . just watch out, some may wear it as a badge honor: would rather play in my cul-de-sac than in a Timbers league.

don't get me wrong, there is a market for Culdesac League.

but a Culdesac League will not help develop players for ECNL....

      Thus, the recruiting begin :)

When did playing in the culdesac become so bad?

Oh that is right, when you pay thousands for it. I wish everyone would be happy with their choices and stop cutting each other down.

Nothing wrong with keeping costs down. Competition level is no different than OYSA for girls at the younger ages and much better than OYSA at the HS ages. Hope you enjoy your drive to Medford this weekend!

            Love it!

Recreational soccer league offered at Classic Select club prices.

You can save little money on cheap gas-if you had to play outside the hood and we ream you with a club fee of $1500.

            Brilliant marketing strategy.

Don't leave the hood, pay a premier club fee for using the fields your tax dollars built and pay local rec coaches with qualified coaching pay.

            Whose best interest is this?

            Once again we Love it!

Or pay just as much, practice the same number of days a week, with comparable coaches, and travel all around the state to play teams that are no better than the ones in the cul de sac. Yeah, that makes a lot more sense.

              Different strokes for different folks.

It will be fine, my kid loves spending 10 hours in a car to play a 70 minute game, it's an easy game so it's worth it. I just don't understand why she is burnt out from soccer, she is only 12.

Playing teams in just your local neighborhood, whatever the reasons might be is not classic/select club soccer by any definition. Why in God's name are we paying classic soccer fees for a rec soccer product?

Understand this is just a question for the OPL leadership.

We don't belong to another league ECNL, OYSA, WSYSA or the Baker City youth soccer association.

Stay focused on our reality-we could care less about where your team has to travel and play. We only know we are stuck playing our neighbors which we did for 5 years in Rec soccer.

So, if it's actually rec soccer why are we be charged classic pricing?

                  Fair Question.

Different logic for different folks is more to the point.

Asking a coach to train and travel with their team is a big time commitment when you play PDX area teams + teams in Salem, Woodburn, Eugene & Bend.

Paying a higher fee for a more committed coach than then the OPL rec coach who plays just in the neighborhood makes perfect sense.

What doesn't make sense is our cul de sac coach doesn't have to devote the hours and time in travel to play teams outside the cul de sac, but he/she gets paid as well as coaches travelling?

From just a labor/hours standpoint those club savings for lower labor costs, should be passed onto our families.

                    Fewer hours=less pay.

Unless you live in this cul de sac Fewer hours=More pay.

                    Love the reasoning.

Is this the newest mantra of the OPL?

We have to pay our TA coach for travel. Per diem, mileage, and hotel. It is an extra cost for us.

So do we in the so called cul de sac league. (OPL)

Even more of ripoff for us.

Thanks for sharing, this is good learning.

Except that there is no travel so no travel costs for the coach. It's a great solution.

We are a TA team and we do not pay for these things unless it's an overnight tournament/travel situation. Which doesn't happen during league.

Opl clubs don't develop much anyway and just recruit. the games could be played in living rooms and opl lovers would say it is worth 20k a year.
