If you go the first you are already alienating yourselves from others joining as you do not look smart by defending broken promises and propaganda built up by you and your coaches by deflecting.

If you go with the second, you better start asking the right questions of your coaches and clubs so that maybe ECNL will be a VIABLE option in the future because right now all it looks like is a bunch of lying and crazy parents defending the lack of competition, how shockingly poor the teams turned out, and the questionable development decisions being made to save money.

Please by all means deflect but one thing is for sure, you are stuck holding a bag and the bag isn't full of good things. You are starting to smell like it.

ECNL people are getting desperate. Stooping to petty put downs.

Reality check here...when someone goes on and on putting people down, calling them losers and reacting angrily rather than with an once of logic it calls anything they say into question.

You just described Talking-Soccer. No one reads this to get factual information. It's simply a flame fest for trolls arguing with themselves.

Oregon ECNL teams are not even stepping to the plate so the opportunity to even achieve this is mute, which is just SAD.
Why is this 'sad'? If they did do FWRL, you would be the first person on here bitching about it's not that tough of competition (it's not) and how much more it costs to travel ( it does )

The SAD part about this is Oregon ECNL teams are do not participate in the OYSA State Cup that allows them to go the the Region IV championships to play top ECNL and non-ECNL in a highly recognized stage to advance to a National level.

You would think, logically these ECNL teams would showcase their team and PLAYERS in these events vs a paid showcase.

Why is that logical? Because you think it is? How exactly do you expect the ECNL teams to participate in the OYSA State Cup? Is OYSA just going to let them in? NO. You have to "qualify" by playing in the OYSA league. If you think the Thorns Academy thumping everybody 8-0 is bad now, just think how bad 20-0 scores would be with the ECNL teams obliterating everybody else. Yeah, that would be great for Oregon soccer!

You seem to forget (or never knew) that ECNL is "not about the teams" and "team championships". It's all about individual player development and showcasing of individual players to as many college coaches as possible. There is no better platform for getting exposure to college coaches than ECNL showcases. None.

The USSDA is the best platform

Since it's been announced that the Girls side will have an Academy across the nation and the Thorns will be the US Soccer club of distinction no discussion or time on this subject will be needed. See the boys side of things to understand how it works.

                LOL

In order to participate in the OYSA State Cup your team needs to play in either Fall/Winter/Spring OYSA league. ECNL chose not to given the opportunities presented to them. Once your "player" with your "team" wins the Oregon State Cup and plays at the Region IV championship, your "player" will get as much exposure or even more vs a paid showcase. This allows your "player" to even say on their Soccer Resume - State Cup Winning team, Region IV participant, Region IV champion, USYSA National participant, USYSA National champion. This will show recruiters the progression how your "player" is a team player to get from PDX->State->Regional->Nationals. Again, thats clear logical on how showcase your "player". Soccer is a team sport.

Then the thorns better hope for some better results after they win OYSA then they realized in FWRL. I can see college scholarships wafting down from the sky like a ticker-tape parade. in their future! How glorious!

And if you look at committments to top programs, many list OYSA State Cup, Regionals USYSA Nationals, as accomplishments.

But ECNL isn't for scholarships, it's for better competition. Which so far, hasn't worked out to well.

                          Serious question

What will happen to the ECNL league when the USSDA is up and running for girls.

Correct vs. Winner of the LV Showcase, Participant of the Surf Cup.
Why do you think ECNL teams like SD Surf compete in Region IV FarWest Regional after winning their State Cup - To say they did and get team/player recognition!
Oregon ECNL teams are not even participating from the gate so why would a recruiter look at a player that doesn't even compete in that arena. Until then, Oregon ECNL will not get respect.

My dd plays for a local ECNL team and this was a topic a month ago between parents.
the ECNL teams are not guaranteed to win the Oregon State Cup....the ECNL clubs are smart by not doing state cup because they are afraid of losing players.
I think that only the U17's would win state cup
