    OPL Spending Money Like Mad

So what is up with OPL offering free league fees to teams this coming fall?
What's up with AH tweeting a photo of a 2 foot restaurant receipt for taking a bunch of players to a meal? Is that what OPL is about now? Desperation and spending money like drunken sailors? I anyone accountable at OPL?

Free league fees for loyal teams seems like a great deal. What had the Timbers done for anybody so far, besides increase their costs and reduce the talent level in OYSA?

Various ECNL fees are making up for them. ECNL parents are helping cover the costs for the other clubs.

Has to be free. Who would pay for money grubbing garbage like that? They were the ones forcing 11v11 and young ages just to make more money. Ecnl is struggling to gain traction and the opl replacement teams are getting blown out so far.

It has to be free or it becomes even worse. And that's saying something

Yeah if it gets a lot worse they'll have to rename it OYSA Timbers league.

No, the weakness of your response is what hurts.

Watch and see. OPL will have as many or more teams than it did in the spring. Now if GW would stop sending his "boy" Mike Smith to negotiate a reunification deal and instead send someone with authority to make a deal, we might get somewhere. But then the Timbers don't really want to do what's right for youth soccer, do they? They just want all the money they can get their hands on...

Considering spring always has less players than fall I would hope they would have more teams... If they dont have more teams than they did in fall then their league is basically over now.

Get a grip buddy. Spring was a split league. A good half (OPL) and a lousy half (OYSA)...

And just wait until next spring when some of the best teams in OPL play OYSA spring league too and then take your precious Timbers State Cup away from you :)

Mike asmith isn't the problem. He is willing to work with the OPL. The problem is Gavin. He isn't interested in unifying soccer.

2 foot long restaurant receipt for player's meal for a Medford event. I really don't think there are any 5 star restaurant in Medford and with 18 players + coaches, you are going to have a large receipt. Would you rather just give the money directly to MP and GW? At least with OPL they are spending the money on the players. Maybe next time Angela will tell the invited players to bring a brown bag lunch.

OPL is the future of girls soccer in Oregon, and it may carry the boys with it. I love what OPL is doing and I can't wait for this next year. I will take large receipts for food for the players than a foam finger and an MLS patch anytime.

Wow, this makes absolutely no sense...do you read what you write before you post it...if I understand your claim you are saying the timbers do want to reunite OPL and OYSA because they just want as much money as possible. Wouldn't uniting everyone under OYSA provide them exactly what they want...

Oh wait OPL has their list of demands to be met in order to reunify, I suspect one of these demands is we will reunify if you subject yourself to us...so it is rally OPL's demands getting in the way of reunification.
