You just confirmed my point which is if your player wants to do ECNL then she should do it.

The fact that you like to watch her play or will miss her play should be secondary.
You people keep missing the point. $8K is just the start. You want to watch her play, then factor in another few grand. I'm not against ECNL, I'm just making sure people look at it with their eyes completely open. And remember, you better hope she is in the top 14 or so if she is going to get decent playing time. Once you sub out, you are out. Coaches aren't going to just be putting girls in to ensure playing time. They will want to win, which means starters and top subs get the playing time. Players 14-18 who get to travel with the team and spend that money will be doing so without much chance of playing. That should make the $8K worthwhile.

Still a much better deal than playing for a TA team in OYSA. You couldn't pay me enough to consider that option...

I read they can sub once a half, so I do not belive your statement about subbing and being done is true. The rules are also different for different events

Sitting on the bench in ECNL is still better than playing in OYSA.

I'm sure your child loves sitting on the bench...are you crazy? I don't know a single "player" that would say sitting on the bench is better than playing.

Do you have a little dog you carry around in your purse also...because it is all about status and looking good...who cares if you actually get to play.

Naa, I just said that to get you more red in the face because I think it's funny how upset you get and are about the fact that ECNL is here and it's not a TA club that has it. You need to grow up and get another hobby besides obsessing over youth soccer.

You are reading correctly but interpretting incorrectly. Once you are subbed out, you are out. Either half. That means a coach is going to ride his starters longer unless he really trusts his reserves. I've spoken with ECNL parents in other states and they all agree that it's not a lot of fun for the reserves who are numbers 14-18. And that doesn't count the girls who are behind those, who get to practice but never even travel.

What do you think your kid will be doing if they are not traveling with the ECNL team? If they are behind the traveling 18, then the only playing time they will get is in the other leagues the ECNL teams play in. And which leagues will that be? Local, OPL/OYSA leagues, that's where. So, if your kid isn't a top kid, then your choices are to be picked for travel team where you pay all that money but don't see the field much. Or, not make the travel team and save that money, but play in this horrible OYSA/OPL local league, that is highly diluted. It all sounds wonderful. Your DD is in for a great time.

Irony alert. Someone forgot he was arguing into the mirror.

Once you sub out you can't return in that half. You can play in the second half.

                          Talking to yourself again?

I am not upset at all, in act both of my players are boys, so I could really care less about ECNL, I just like watching train wrecks happen, and it seems like both trains are now on the same track and in view.

You are exactly the parent the ECNL clubs are looking for. Youll whip out that check book and sign a blank one, just so your DD has the lil "ELITE" patch on her sleeve and you can brag about it here. Do you rehearse that in the mirror each morning ?

Previous poster was correct. This post is incorrect in regard to subbing.
