I watched this group at NWCL. They are behind technically. Please tell me that the coach doesn't set up fitness in the sand where they pack things around.

Those girls don't need fitness at 11 years old. They need thousands of touches at each practice.....a good coach can get the team to do the fitness while working with the ball.

It's sad when you see these coaches still coaching like it's 1987.

    Wake up over there!

That is a very inaccurate observation. This team is doing just fine technically, many of the girls have technical trainers on the side, and there was more 1 touch, ball moves, and technical touches then any other team they played that weekend. The difference was in effort and toughness. This team lacks the killer instinct and aggressive style of play that the other 2 teams used to beat them. The sand practices have been about building mental toughness, not necessarily fitness.

This is silly. This only works if you are sprinting vs Apollo Creed.

Everyone knows the way to build mental toughness is to shadow box sides of beef in cold storage. Or run museum stairs. Jogging behind a car works, too.

Let's take this to another level and call the Colombian.

Well that vinegary attitude won't catch many flies.

Speaking of flies. Another great Coach once showed me the leaps in mental tenacity from catching flies with chopsticks.

To summarize the mental toughness workout plan to date:
Sand sprints (w or w/o Apollo Creed is OK)
              Beef boxing
              Car chasing
              Museum stair running
              Fly chopsticks
              Snow running

This program really seems to be coming together.

1 league game, 1 loss. Parents better get used to this. Spending every weekend in Seattle getting spanked must be fun.

                        Noooooooooooo!

The mental toughness program isn't working - and the Colombian doesn't want to do a follow up.

Might be time to push a monster truck tire in the sand.
Or the old paint the fence standby.

I never knew losing to NWN A team 4-3 was considering getting spanked, but okay. And I wonder what it means when they beat crossfire's A team 2-1?

You mean the NWN team that finished 2nd to last last Fall and Spring?

That's nothing to brag about. Quite the opposite.

Are the tiki-Taka coach and this coach the same person?

The self promotion of both teams is eerily similar. It's like they share one shrunken head.

No. And completely different training styles.
