Don't bash those Timbers because they have their own fields and your club doesn't

We've had for ten years what the Timbers won't have for at least another ten...

              Have you ever been told......
If you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all!

People are trying to share information, let people make the decisions that best fit their family and situation, it is different for each child/family.

If you don't feel that RTC is right for your child/family, I respect that, but don't belittle others who feel it is the right choice for their child and make unproductive comments. RTC has its pros and cons and each much decide what is best for them.

It was nice to see someone actually answer the question and provide information to someone who did not have the information. It was interesting how many people responded to the question but never answered the question directly.

Welcome to Talking-Soccer. It should be called "Talking-Sh$t" or "Talking-Hate" based on everyone's agenda and the hatred between the clubs. I would love to see more thoughtful answers and opinions and less crap. It is really funny to read the older pages on this thread and see how many people hate the Revolution. It makes no sense why. They don't know the parents or the kids. Every winning team is obnoxious to the those that are trying to compete. I just never understood the venom toward them.

So did any Revolution girls go to RTC last night?

Don't really understand why so much venom towards the Timber teams. They are girls that like soccer to and just picked the club they thought best. The coach Timbers is a good coach too.

... Same could be said for FCSC too.

FCFC spews venom. Lying, cheating DOC, they get what back what they put out.

The DoC is one person. the rest of the club coaches parents and kids do not deserve to be attacked

Just signed my dd up for RTC. You don't have to make all the tryouts but have to make at least one or get letters of rec from coaches & Doc. Registration for tryouts doesn't close till after tryouts. are over. Last year at this age they didn't cut any players except ones who were really very very low quality. That can be a good or bad thing ... but don't not go because you're worried you'll get cut the first go around - especially in a smaller area. Last year the 400$ included a duffle type gear bag, shorts, jersey, warmup pants, nice Thorns sweatshirt & thin rain jacket & socks (all Nike). Not bad.

it ends up being around $10 per session, it's cheaper than private lessons...this is my second DD and we feel its a great avenue to get some extra training. It's the best bang for your buck

RTC is a waste of money and time. Kids in our area will train with their own team mates, sometimes weaker kids from a younger age team, and local rec players, under the supervision of a coach who is not even qualified to coach the A teams in our club (but is somehow qualified to work in the RTC). Don't get me started on the gear. Why not give players an RTC shirt and skip the bag, warm up etc. Shame on the Timbers and ODP for creating another expensive useless training option. Our coach and DOC are not happy that parents complain about the cost of tournaments, traveling, and club fees, and then sign up for a program that adds very little to the development of players. None of the players who joined last year improved due to the RTC. Just another youth soccer money grab...
