Founders Cup - non-RCL B/C/D/E teams from smaller clubs

At every age level, the best competition is NOT in Washington Cup, at least not yet. It is getting better but it doesn't include the top 8-10 clubs in the state.
Challenge cup includes RCL div 1 up to and including u11. After that Div 1 competes in Sate Cup.

      Spring PSPL Development League

They were the top team in the PSPL Dev league this year. However, that league does NOT contain any "Premier" clubs which, by definition in Washington, are in the RCL (ie. Crossfire, Seattle United, Washington Premier, Eastside FC, NW Nationals, PacNW, etc.)
So Normandy Park was on top of the select league, and there is no evidence they have actually played any premier teams. I notice the 2nd place team in that league was WPFC Fury, which is the select side of WPFC. Fury teams are generally equivalent in competitiveness with WPFC C teams.

So one might conclude from this that Pacific FC was beat by the equivalent of a C team from a premier club. None of this is particularly surprising, and only worth noting because of all the hype this team was getting on this board from their misguided parents earlier in the year.

Normandy park lost to your all elite Wpfc challenge cup champions 3-2. Wow pacific lost one game and all of a sudden they are mediocre. Let's not forget the 17-1 trouncing they put on your timbers. Get a clue

Wow, a 29 page thread on 9 year olds. I hope it involves sleep overs and ice cream, because that is what is more important to 9 year olds.

Exactly, perhaps the Pacific parents and coaches will realize this too. Really not cool to beat kids 25 to nothing either. College recruiters don't come to 10 year old games and hopefully parents learned there are a lot of good players out there. Did not even play the top teams yet.

In other words, Pacific was 0 for 1 against somewhat decent competition. Normandy Park lost to WPFC last summer. At these very young age groups, the premier level teams improve a ton from the beginning of the soccer year to the end. That improvement comes from playing tough competition every week. If WPFC were to play Normandy Park now, they'd probably handle them much easier than they did last summer.

Further, the premier teams get stronger and stronger over the years as the talent consolidates to the best teams. 9 year olds tend to play at the nearest club. As they get older, more of the best players want to move from their home clubs to play with other good players at the stronger clubs.

Face it misguided parent. You had a nice little group of 9 year olds who avoided playing anyone good all year. And when you finally played someone fairly good, you lost. And losing to a team who lost a close game last summer to a premier level team is the closest this team will ever get. The premier teams will get stronger, and your team will get weaker.

Sorry to be harsh, but that is reality. Again, this is hardly noteworthy except for the huge amount of hype this team has received on the board this year.

Not a single mention of the Normandy Park G03 team on the Washingtonpremiersoccer website. Not one post, let alone a 30 page thread.

I'm sure they are a pretty good little team, but apparently the parents of that team realize a good select-level team are not the second coming of the USWNT.

So, because of one bad game, you completely throw out last year's resume? Including playing in the OPL U11 11v11 against the B teams of all of the premier clubs in Oregon and finishing with a 10-0-2 record. I don't care if you argue that it is the B (but in some cases A) teams they played. Fact is they competed extremely well against older and bigger girls in known good programs. Half of the teams they played last fall are in the top spring division and doing alright this year. This isn't at age, we are talking about 9 year old girls that did way better than any of you expected in that league. Half of the time the Revolution girls were a foot shorter and 5 steps faster, yet a solid defense and great passing style kept them on top.

Not one person has said they are the 2nd coming of the national team. Give it a rest. They play great together and you are probably hurt because they whooped your daughters team. I can understand why you are mad when you watch the boot ball your team plays and contrasts that with a sharing/short pass game of the revolution.

Playing developmentally inappropriate 11 v 11 early is not a good thing at 12, let alone 9 years old.

It's all good coach. Hopefully the experiences you've provided them by playing a year up against lower level teams comes to fruition this upcoming season as I'm assuming you're going to play against the top teams in top level tournaments & league at your own age group. It's fairly easy to be a possession oriented team when the play is slowed down, but with better competition and speed of play increased, we'll see how contrast your sharing/short pass game really is. Maybe your team will revolutionized a more direct style of play. :)

Revolutionizing boot ball! LOL. I think the WT coaches have that style patented. This team won't play any of the good tournaments again at U11. But if they did, win or lose, would it stop the delusional people who either hate or love this team from talking about it? I bet not.

Delusional parents and coaches. Next you see them headed to California to play the C teams upper ages.

Oh, be nice! Revolution is a good team. I wish them continued success. It's refreshing for them to be trying to play more possession style of soccer at the younger ages. Yes, other teams will quickly catch up (& pass up too) but it seems they've done a great job thus far. Can't we all just give kudos & move on?

Good team but not a great one. Agree they will get passed up by end this year. Teams like this with coaches like this actually ruin development of young players. You will find that one out when your DD tries for another team few years and can't do much but pass ball up. Coaches think they are developing players but they are really only developing a team.
