Nice rant but... where do you see Normandy Park beating PFC 3-1. It was the other way around, as it should be when you get a half-decent, mid-pack select team playing a rec team.

A little birdie told me they have the score all wrong....the rec team beat this mid-level select team.

If true, that just make it all the worse. No self-respecting "premier" team loses to the clubs in that tournament... If you can't beat a Normandy Park, Xfire / WPFC / SU will simply obliterate you.

So what does that say about the WT 03 group that has been obliterated by this PFC team? A sorry state of soccer in SW Washington. If it can't be united, then WT "premier" is really WT "rec", but for a heck of a lot more money.

Even if you could unite them it would not be enough as the coaching
is an issue as well. Want the girls you have to take the coaches too. Now you understand who is really causing the blockade.

There is no way the coaches of the G03 girls would go to WT. Why would the DOC of PFC go to Timbers? Sunny is not his fan and Bob wouldn't "work for" Sunny. So there is no "blockade", just competing clubs. Simple.

These girls at PFC are doing fantastic. I don't see why people have to tear down their accomplishments. Yes, one day, they will fade and be less dominant and then all you armchair "experts" can say it was because Bob is incompetent or PFC is bush league or "if they would have only gone to WT sooner". Truth is, you don't know.

But if it makes you feel better to bash away anonymously about the accomplishments of that team, go for it. This is cheap therapy for you, I'm sure.

Truth is the coaches already tried to come over to WT. The bigger issue is there are just not many really strong coaches in the area. You see that issue popping up on almost all the threads.

You're dead wrong. I know those guys and it's not true. (About 5 years ago one of them led a little academy session for a couple of months but after that, it's been no love.) But I guess if you had some accurate information you would have told us by now.

Agree with you on the no strong coaches. WT coaches are nothing to write home about for the most part.

Lookup Normandy Park's record. It is a very good team and has played the premier clubs quite well. PFC beat them last year at Starfire but not this time around. A few good bounces and this is a different outcome. Got to love soccer.

It looks from reading the results that the Crossfire teams play in the Challenge Cup. Reading something regarding standings and RCL? Everyone always mentions Crossfire is the team to beat. Was this team not allowed to play in the Challenge Cup? It really hard to determine if this team is really that good?

have to have different cards for Challenge cup and have to play in OYSA qualifying league to be eligible. Team only had OPL cards and just played in that tournament. No need to spend extra $300.00 in cards.

In Washington, the state cups are, in order of "difficulty":

State Cup - RCL top teams
Challenge Cup - RCL B/C teams and A teams from smaller non-RCL clubs
Washington Cup - US Club A/B teams
Founders Cup - non-RCL B/C/D/E teams from smaller clubs
Presidents Cup - Rec teams

At every age level, the best competition is NOT in Washington Cup, at least not yet. It is getting better but it doesn't include the top 8-10 clubs in the state.

Please provide a link to Normandy Park's record against the Premier teams. I have a hard time believing that a rec/select team from an unknown club has even played Premier teams, let alone played them "quite well."

They were the top team in the PSPL Dev league this year. However, that league does NOT contain any "Premier" clubs which, by definition in Washington, are in the RCL (ie. Crossfire, Seattle United, Washington Premier, Eastside FC, NW Nationals, PacNW, etc.)

Looks like need to go OYSA to get shot at playing the premier teams like Crossfire? Appears that this is a top notch SELECT team but , does not look like team has played in a true premier tournament at their age to really see? Fair assessment thus far
