Haha Old TS Threads? That is what you are basing your convictions on and what you think justifies chasing ECNL clubs at 9 years old?

I have been around the game my entire life playing, coaching and putting my two older kids through the youth soccer meat grinder and your viewpoint is flat out wrong.

Truly exceptional players walk right in to whatever teams they want and bump the desperate hangers on off the destination clubs at U14, always have and always will.

This works both ways as well though, being on the hot winning team at 9 and 10, like Revolution doesn't mean jack either. It's about the individual players, not any clubs or teams at this age.

Agree with your statement it is about the individual players at this age. Seen plenty of A players at younger ages not make it later and plenty of B players that do.

it will be a very cold day in hell before FCSC would merge with W**C despite the multitude of rationales from W**C to do so. FCSC is clearly competitive on the girls side without any help from W**C except for the parents/players who have grow weary of the mud and promises from the good ole boys under Sonny's reign of mediocrity.

FCSC would more likely to consider a merge with a FCP or a Crossfire to at least be part of a competent administrative and leadership source.

I have no love for either. But FCSC is the club that was looking to merge with Pacific and even Longview. Frimpong has destroyed the academy, they have no strong teams or numbers at younger ages. Why would anyone want to merge with Frimpong? That guys a joke and full of empty promises.

FCSC on the girls side? High school teams suck, U9-U13 teams suck, U12 is ok but went backwards this year. had to bring rec. players to fill the roster. They have U14--U16. Three teams. Not sure that qualifies as a girls side.

Which tells you how bad WT failed this year, that kids actually left to go to FCSC.

Seen every single pacific team turnout poorly developed players who can't make local clubs. Fcsc can't win without timbers players and timbers players who go across the river can choose any team they want because portland development is poor. Regardless, it's pretty hilarious when a small town across the river can churn out better players than Portland clubs.

Correct, there is no more 97 red team. Top players left to play Ecnl or Academy. Others will play on other teams in Portland. Studley is to blame for this one.

It makes him an idiot for not taking the ECNL job, if it was actually offered. He's got nothing left to work with at WT_FC.
