Neither am I. My point is that the same people who led the original split are the same people leading the split back. When do people start questioning the legitimacy and motives of these people? At what point do we question these people's motives?

Which top clubs / teams weren't in the OPL last year, or the year before? Seemed pretty united to me.

Bull**** and you know it. Clubs should have some sort of voice and under OYSA they will.

We should have already questioned it and now that a MLS team is behind some of the voice I think it holds a little more credibility than a couple of huge ego docs!!!!

Still didn't answer the question. Which top clubs weren't in OPL last year?

The reason clubs left OYSA is because they DIDN'T have a voice. Nothing has changed in the way OYSA is run. OYSA is still run by administrators and politicians, not soccer professionals.

To be clear, non-OPC clubs had a voice. They didn't have voting rights.

You are right that few clubs will have a voice in OYSA. It will be all Timbers.... Timbers.... Timbers.....

Clubs don't have a direct voice in OYSA either. Club reps get to elect "regional directors" at the OYSA AGM to sit on the board. Clubs may be "represented" but they don't have a vote at the board level. Much like how individual citizens don't get to vote in Congress.

So your gripe is similar to all the non founder clubs of the OPL when it was formed only this time it is reversed. I get it because I had the exact same gripe as you last time even though we landed on the OPL side. Sorry I think this is the right thing to do. If our club doesn't move over in the next year I will be very surprised and disappointed.

This is purely my opinion and I get that you don't share it. I have been in the youth soccer scene for 15 years now and this was wrong. I am not the only OPL parent to feel this way either. I actually liked youth soccer a lot better before the split.

This is so ridiculous it is almost scary. "Having a voice" is either a vote or a clear path to a representative forum. Your right OYSA doesn't allow everyone to vote on everything, but they have the AGM, it is at this meeting people consider big directional questions, and yes everyone is invited. Did OPL ever have an organized forum to get input on direction? Did they really even welcome comments during the year?

None of the OYSA governance rules change, they are still run by a board, but now they have the timbers providing the direction for their competitive program. Kind of like having professional administration on the admin side, and the Timbers youth organization on the soccer side.

                          Not bad.

So true!!!!!! I am thinking that many people have no experience with OYSA other than hearing rumors.

I can't speak for what is scary to you…Perhaps you still worry about boogymen in your closet, but I can assure you the Timbers organization

                                1) is a professional organization not the puppet of one individual,

                                2) is a service provider to OYSA.

If you are scared of one person having control over an organization I would think you would run from any OPL club…

Again it isn't my issue what you chose to fear.
