This discussion is about your choice of which club to play for in Oregon?
Which club/team does my youngster join. Yup that's it.
You have no say in what league your child plays, the club decides for you. You just have the ability to select a club and hope it's a good fit.
Do you really care about the trickle down effect of your registration dollars subsidizing a for profit MLS team based in Portland that is handicapped by their membership in MLS a socialist sports business model that doesn't allow them (Portland) to even pay their own players or even make a cent of the MLS national tv contracts and the worst they cannot even see the full net of their own attendance gate as a portion must go to the MLS?
GW is forced to think outside of the box for revenue as the structure of the MLS single entity model basically turns what should be a landslide fiscal winner (portland) into another generic break even team in the MLS...
A socialist economic system consists of a system of production and distribution organised to directly satisfy economic demands and human needs, so that goods and services are produced directly for use instead of for private profit driven by the accumulation of capital. Accounting is based on physical quantities, a common physical magnitude, or a direct measure of labour-time in place of financial calculation.Distribution is based on the principle to each according to his contribution. Marxist theory holds that the development of the socialist mode of production will give rise to a communist society, in which classes and the state are no longer present, there is access abundance to final goods, and thus distribution is based on to each according to his need.
Ever wonder why their are no LA Lakers, Miami Heat, NY Yankees, Dallas Cowboys, Boston Celtics type of epic franchises in the MLS?? Simple the ridiculous parity in the MLS evidences itself in the state of no excellent teams, everyone has the same access to the 2nd level soccer pros from abroad and the nearly best americans available. It's a splendor of mediocrity.
GW is still itching to be a capitalist, which is understandable since his boss MP has a Harvard MBA and MP's Dad was a bigwig at goldman sachs and the secretary of the treasury for the USA.
Problem is GW isn't american---he hasn't figured out that for profit companies in the U.S., even ones in a socialist archetype embedded by the MLS don't have the right to take over the operations of Non-Profit...
Unless you live in PORTLANDIA BABY!!

Only then will the old boyz club attitude be replaced with a professional approach to running an organization.
And no I'm not now or have I even been affiliated with OYSA or even a friend of an OYSA employee or board member. I just know that when you staff an organization with amateurs you get amateur results.
The problem with the OPL is that they were too successful. They accomplished all their goals right away. So, they need to go back and set new goals to continue improving soccer in Oregon.

It works out great and those weekends to Seattle are a blast. You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. Plus, carpooling is always an option.
With OYSA and OPL separating the competition, Oregon is left WAY behind compared to the RCL. Please don't speak on topics that you have no idea. Thx.
