Which club/team does my youngster join. Yup that's it.

You have no say in what league your child plays, the club decides for you. You just have the ability to select a club and hope it's a good fit.

Do you really care about the trickle down effect of your registration dollars subsidizing a for profit MLS team based in Portland that is handicapped by their membership in MLS a socialist sports business model that doesn't allow them (Portland) to even pay their own players or even make a cent of the MLS national tv contracts and the worst they cannot even see the full net of their own attendance gate as a portion must go to the MLS?

GW is forced to think outside of the box for revenue as the structure of the MLS single entity model basically turns what should be a landslide fiscal winner (portland) into another generic break even team in the MLS...

Until the Member boards take control of the OPL they will continue to flounder as the built in conflicts of interest will inhibit any growth or improvement in operations. The first step is to remove the DOC's from the Board and replace them with board members of the affiliated clubs. The next step is to hire an executive director.

Only then will the old boyz club attitude be replaced with a professional approach to running an organization.

And no I'm not now or have I even been affiliated with OYSA or even a friend of an OYSA employee or board member. I just know that when you staff an organization with amateurs you get amateur results.

Pure ignorance... You clearly have no idea how US Club works. Clubs running US Club leagues is what it is all about. It is about taking amateurs and bureaucrats (people who don't understand soccer) out of running soccer. This is why OYSA was such a mess. People who didn't understand soccer ran OYSA.

The problem with the OPL is that they were too successful. They accomplished all their goals right away. So, they need to go back and set new goals to continue improving soccer in Oregon.

What are you talking about? When we play RCL (which you never have) half the games are at home, the other half in Seattle. And usually, we can work it out with Seattle Club team managers to knock out 2 or 3 league games in one weekend, making maybe 2 to 3 Seattle trips in the Fall season. It works out great and those weekends to Seattle are a blast. You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. Plus, carpooling is always an option.

With OYSA and OPL separating the competition, Oregon is left WAY behind compared to the RCL. Please don't speak on topics that you have no idea. Thx.

If you know nothing on a topic do not speak as if you do. The poster stated that ALL RCL GAMES ARE IN SEATTLE. That is not true no matter who you are. It is not a possible experience for anyone in this area since half of all rcl games are home games. Please stay out of conversations if you don't have a clue.
