One qualified for the OPL at PCU, the other qualified for WA based on U10 results (winning OPL Directors Cup, etc.

There were 5 teams from OPL that qualified at PCU: FC Portland, CFC, Eugene, THUSC, VT White).

        Why no Eugene or Bend?

The Nwcl play-in tourny for U11 is always the best one for U11 because so many of the teams show up! Eugene looked decent vs ***C Red at United Cup finals. Anyone know how Bend U11 is looking this year?

Eugene found out the hard way last year that they were a lot out of their league against the RCL teams. Maybe they decided to pass on the expense this year...

Eugene has a very strong u-11 girl's team. They are not doing this tournament because four of their top six players cannot attend for various reasons. This group wants a Premier league placement in the Fall and a bad showing at Beaverton could compromise this goal.

Yes, Eugene has a very strong, athletic U11 team. They are small but are the fastest '02 team in the state. If they can just find a deep enough team pulling from such a small pool, they will be the next Athletica for Eugene and will challenge the best in OPL Premier.

Well, if Eugene can't get enough players to play in tourney, how are they going to get enough to drive to Pdx all season for games? It will be fun to see how all the others do! Any predictions?

Is Eugene playing with their best players down in Eugene this weekend?

I don't know. I did see them play today and they only had 12 so I'm sure they're missing some players. This tournament is using 2012/13 ages, so they're playing up. They're not very big, but that are fast.
