Wow, that's sad. We're just starting out with a U11 so we're not up on all the political stuff. I'm not sure how much fun this will be...

For what it's worth, financial hardships have changed the summer tournament seasons for a lot of teams. There are more tournaments now so teams have to really pick and choose what tournaments that they can register for. After making out checks for club registration and uniforms, then trying to come up with money to cover summer tournaments, coach's travel, and team fundraisers, it can be sticker shock.

Rookie parent here. We scheduled our vacation right after school gets out (like all our other years). So my daughter will miss her first tournament with a new team. Too bad, looking forward to seeing how my daughter does on a bigger field with the increase in competition.
Don't really understand all this political talk (hope I never do), but excited to see how my daughter does at this level.

Vacation planning...
Originally posted by Unregistered View PostEverything will be fine. Enjoy these years and new level of games ahead of her. Our family has traveled so much for tournaments, friendlies, and ODP events. When we could, we would plan mini vacations arriving in town ahead of the team or staying on afterwards. Family time works out well even in places like Las Vegas, where we saw dolphins and the big cats, and did hikes outside of the city.
