For this age group it really is a 2 horse race this year.

Regardless what people have said you have to give ***C their credit. They have scored 37 goals so far (closest team scored 19). And they have a GD of 29 which is double 2nd places GD.

The 4 NWCL teams are in good shape to finish in the top 4 and claim NWCL spots next year. I guess the right 4 teams did well in the Beaverton cup.

Thusc has a chance to finish top 4, but honestly I am a bit disappointed with how they have played so far. I expected them to be that 3rd team who will push the top 2 teams. Only scoring 6 goals though in 12 games just isn't getting it done.

Eastside is probably most improved in my eyes from what I saw during the summer.

Any of the buttom 4 could switch with the top few teams in the Premier division and you wouldn't see much change.

FCSC and FCP refuse to tie anyone this year so far. 12 games and 0 ties.

For this age group its fair to say the Timbers alliance dominates right now. We will see in the future if that changes.
I actually think there are 2-3 teams in the premier division that could have given THUSC and EST a run for their money for those spots. I will agree with you on top two, but I would have loved to see CFC, BSC and WUSC have a chance as well.

Remember in the past ***C teams would play in a non OPL league in spring (just like they are doing this year) so they could qualify for state cup. however, they still did NWCL. Its because NWCL starts before OPL starts, so its not based on what league you are playing in teh same year. Its based on if you qualified the year before. For example if the U11 teams this year that qualified during the Beaverton cup chose to play OYSA this year they still would have been allowed in NWCL.
OYSA teams will not be allowed in NWCL next season.

Find me somewhere that is actually stated and I will believe you then. Until then you are just saying your opinion. According to the actual rules of NWCL nothing says if you do OYSA that you are now kicked out of NWCL.

No, but it is the OPL that decides which teams represent the OPL. If the NWCL decides to allow teams from OYSA, and this isn't the case so far, then OYSA will have to figure out who they want to send.

The NWCL rules state you qualify if you finish top 4 in the top division of OPL... If someone qualifies you got to let them in. That would be like surf cup denying the winner of NWCL based on what league they play in. Its a tournament, and right now its been tied to OPL, but remember NWCL just wants the best teams in their league. If they don't get the best teams then the washington teams will stop competing in it, they already aren't thrilled with it.

You must be new. The rules for qualification can and most likely will be changed. The rules for qualification a have been changed every year it has been in existence. My guess is it will change based on which group the WA clubs on the advisory board like most TA or OPL since there are two reps from OPL THUSC and FC and two from TA Westside Timbers and ***C.

The OYSA clubs certainly won't be "encouraged" by OYSA to participate in a US Club sanctioned league...

For those wondering this is straight from NWCL:
"The Northwest Champions League (“NWCL”) is administered by Vision Sports Marketing, Inc.
The NWCL is a US Club Soccer sanctioned league and a member of the United States Soccer
                  Federation (“USSF”)."

OYSA is a member of USSF, and so is a supported league by NWCL. However, because all the clubs with OPL the NWCL used the OPL to decide who would be accepted. Now that it is splitting they will find another way. (in my opinion in a year everyone will be together under OYSA anyways since everyone but Crossfire, Thusc, and FC portland have already made it clear they plan to be heading that way).

In the off season NWCL will review how it accepts teams and will change their format because in the end they want the best teams. If they stop getting the best teams their entire league will fall apart.

The NWCL has already met on this. They met the Friday night of the NWCL weekend in Seattle. Rumor is that the top 2 OPL and top 2 OYSA teams will get invites, at least in the U11-U14 ages, along with the top 5 from RCL, top 1 from WSPL, top 1 from ID, etc.

How have they made this clear? Link please? You might be surprised how few clubs are entertaining the OYSA option.

You are right there are no "links" to it. I have only talked to coaches/docs from both sides and obviously they are trying to "spin" things there way. What I have gathered from weeding through their explinations is around 70% of the clubs are leaning towards OYSA. To be honest when I was talking to the non TA club it sounded more like they were expecting to end up in OYSA sooner rather than later, but hopefully they can get some concessions on their way there.

So pretty much every team from the OPL makes it. Nice.
