Not that I know of, I think everyone on their "premier" side all pays the same cost. Honestly the tiered system that ***C put into place this year was a great Idea. For those that don't know what it is, basically it doesn't matter if you are a B, C, D team what they do is look at the ability/level of your team before the season and base your price off of that. The higher price pays for more turf time, more practices throughout the year, higher level coaching, ect. But that means at some age groups the B and C teams may pay as much as the A teams, and at other age groups the B team maybe pays about 400 dollar less, and hte C team pays about 700 less. Its not perfect, but its much more reasonable than it used to be.

      Gu11 gold
Bracket A: FC portland Navy, FCSC, Thusc Sapphire, Westside Samba TS, WUSC White
Bracket B: Bend FC Timbers, CFC Red, NEU white, Thusc Emerald, VCU Power

Honestly there are a few teams in this one I don't know much about at the moment. However, Bracket A is FAR easier than Bracket B. CFC and Thusc should be the top 2 teams at this tournament. Bend and VCU are both unknowns to me. They could easily be tougher than anyone in bracket A.

Bracket A should come down to FC portland and FCSC.

But lets be honest I hate how they do this tournament. 5 teams in a bracket, but you only play 2 games then based on your points you get into different brackets. Just a crappy way to run it.

The only other Notable team for this age group in this tournament is ***C Red is playing in the U12 Gold division, so we will see how they do. However, looking at the list of teams I think it was a good choice to move up an age.

Is this Westside Timbers Samba team the same that won the silver division of the Chinook Cup?

Should be based on the names.

Looking at day 1 of mt hood challenge. Here is what we see:

FC Portland and FCSC will go through as the top 2, however I really wish FCSC had to play Westside Samba TS, I really wonder how close that game would end up. But thanks to how this tourney is set up the top 2 teams in that bracket may not go through.

Tomorrows Thusc vs VFC could be the best game of the "pool" play. I haven't seen VFC this year but last year they were very solid. Will be interested to see how they fair with thusc. Most like will be thusc and CFC coming out of this bracket.

***C Red beat WUSC B Gu12 team 4-0. Not really a surprise. Tomorrow they will play a pretty good Dynamite team that finished towards the top of Div 1 last year. Looking at this tournament I think it was a good decision to play up, they should get much better games overall.

Having watched both teams play this summer FCSC would probably have beat Westside Samba. Agree with who you picked to move forward in brackets.

              Day 2 in the books:

As guessed FCSC and FC Portland both made it into the semi's and both lost. Which wasn't a real shocker. They are around 7-9th right now in my rankings, and they could manage an upset here and there, but the majority of the time they will lose against the top teams.

***C Red managed a draw and a win in their semi's. Pretty good results so far playing in the gold division of U12. Playing up was probably a good choice for them this weekend.

It gets a bit iffy towards the bottom, but right now:
                  1. Westside Copa TS
                  2. Washington Timbers Red
There is a bit of a gap between the top 2 and the rest.

                  3. Thusc Emeral
                  4. Eastside
                  5. CFC
There is a gap between the top 5 and the rest

                  6. EMFC
                  7. Westside Copa
                  8. FC Portland
                  9. Lake Oswego
                  10. FCSC

After top 5 then its very difficult because they will have a good win, then turn around and have a bad loss. Some of these teams could get an upset over the top 5 at any given time, but would probably lose 8 out of 10 games against the top 5.

I forgot to put in the next teams to make it in (in no order): BSC, SSC, VFC, Westside Samba TS. VFC I haven't seen enough of this summer in tournaments to really judge them.

Agree for the most part but, I think that ***C might drop some later in year. Looking at all teams some teams are really starting to develop more. Eastside is one of them. I don't think your list will look the same at end of year.

I agree, that the list should look different next year, and that the other teams are developing as well. I think the gap between the top 5 and everyone else will close a ton by the end of the year. But also ***C is doing things to try and develop as well (playing u12 gold this weekend, and doing well).

One thing though that could be a huge difference though, is right now in Vancouver there are still a handful of players who could play for ***C that would make them MUCH better (they have a few players playing up a year that may come back to age next year, top player from fcsc and pacific) If those players come on age next year then that team will get better just based off better talent. That doesn't happen as much with the Oregon teams unless a team falls apart.

                          Mt. Hood Challenge

FC beat FCSC by two. Shoulda been more. Looks like championship game for this tourney was probably played yesterday between THUSC and FC.

***C red went 3 wins and 1 tie (thanks to how its set up they didn't get to play in the top bracket) but still won theres. Well done.

CFC is a better team than FC Portland, so in this one case I would say the best two teams in the tourney ended up playing in the finals.

I have seen both Teams, FC is defiantly the better team this weekend.
