I am in total agreement that if the Onyx parents did not take every chance they can get to come on here and thump their egotistical chests about how THEIR GIRLS have competed, we wouldn't have to respond in the way we do. I emphasize THE GIRLS because THEY are the ones who put in the hours of training to compete at the level they do. Parents need to let them relish in THEIR success and not embarrass them on here by running their mouths off. On top of that, we all need to give credit where credit is due....there IS more than one good U15 girls team in OR!

But very few people come out and attack THUSC as a club unless provoked. People attack people that claim THUSC is the best club because that is just not true. Onyx is a good team. But the rest of the teams at THUSC that ride their coat tails and claim that THUSC is supreme, it's just not accurate and that is why people get pi$$y with that claim. Again, THUSC is a solid club with one great team. The remainder are solid, competitive teams and should be proud. But again, there are 5 or 6 clubs that are stronger top to bottom. IMHO.
Again, congrats to Onyx for a strong showing!

Cracks me up
Cracks me up how so many people try to minimize the accomplishments of Onyx by pointing out other league standings or how teams they just played have matched up in the past but then act like the bigger person at the end and say "congratulations Onyx way to go". Still being sure that the sentence before just discredited the accomplishment all together! And God forbid someone that is there tries to share their opinion of how the game went because then it's their parents pumping their chest!
Bottom line, great job Onyx, your best showing at Surf yet and you should be proud of your team! In fact great summer all around!

No one ever said there isn't more than one good u15 team. There are many good teams at all age levels. The problem is that people come here and attack each other and put down children and their teams.

Good post

That boggles my mind a bit, but what can you do. Someone deranged enough to attack a children's team must have a screw loose to begin with.

It all falls apart at U15 though when the Sherwood girls learn they have to merge with WST.
One club can be stronger or strongest for one reason or another, but these clubs are dynamic entities and have time on their sides. A coach moves on, sometimes players do as well. The arguments for a club's style of play or developmental style are moot. Not every single team at a club plays the same way or develops every one of their teams in the same way. Remember the relevance of technical/tactical/mental/physical skills and development and enter in personalities to see how they apply to the player "fit" on every team/age group/club.
Poster, your comments with trigger phrases such as "but are still," "strictly a," "make them look like they are trying to care," and "all falls apart," can be applied to any club during specific years, and are often wrongly/incorrectly used to influence or convince someone that these teams/clubs are not capable of adapting to change. Obviously they can adapt and prevail. I have been involved in club programs here and in southern California for over 40 years. Nothing new except that fortunately there are more youth involved in soccer so more opportunities for players. Best of luck to all players, all teams, all clubs, in looking to pursue the best competition afforded them.
