This will surely anger the TS parents

But I don’t hate them like you do, just wished we beat them in state cup.

Making this match essentially meaningless, but the match afforded the champs the occasion to rest their best players.
opfc has earned their pseudo name; Gaslighting FC.

Don't sleep on Crescent Valley in 5A. One goal allowed through 5 games, played 4 6A teams in preseason.

I don't want to waste everyone's time talking about the top ranked 5A high school teams if all anyone wants to do is talk about how bad/boring they are. I can always go back to monitoring an argument about which club has the best 2013 players.

Given that most high schools (other than the private schools) have fixed attendance boundaries, winning state championships and producing top college players tend to have little do do with each other. One Portland-area school has sent three players to D1 in the past two seasons, but has yet to advance past the second round of the state playoffs.
I'll let you figure out which school it is.

Or are you describing how bad a coach has to be that he can’t win state with future d1 players being spoon fed back to the program after being developed on the path to pro by Timbers?
Please please please tell me you are referencing the second one.

Shaping up to be a very competitive Mid-Willamette season at the top with CV, West Albany, Corvallis, Woodburn, and McKay all duking it out for 4 playoff spots. Makes for some very entertaining games this month in the valley.
There are people near the metro interested in it too. Not everyone here is sad and bitter with their life.

I'm making no comment about the coach--the team had some very good players at the top, but also had several non-premier players in its starting lineup. In short, it wasn't deep, and tended to get beaten by the schools that fill an entire roster with kids on state cup rosters in club.
And I'm not attributing most of a player's development to a HS coach; given the limits placed on the high school season, we all know that's asinine. Though some kids learn a lot in high school, especially the ones for whom organized club soccer, especially travel teams, pose a financial hardship.
