That's the problem with clubs like WST that abuse the guest player rule. It got so bad that John Bain finally sent out an email about it. Unfortunately it was only after Samba had secured their spot.

What does the OPC's OPL Guest Player Rule say exactly, about player movement between teams of the same club during league play? I remember the OYSA days when clubs were allowed to move players between their own teams up until a certain date in league.

Sounds to me like WST's Bain made a club-based requirement and not an OPC-based requirement. Where do you actually see an abuse of the player guest rule? Does the OPC actually have time/play mandatss for guest players? I don't see it in my docs from the OPC.

It's amazing that the U13B thread has been up for the year and the only real point that is discussed seems to be from CFC parents regarding Samba/Copa players.

Copa parent here, no email, no guest players...ever.

During initial selection, copa took 21 players and moved 3 to samba prior to our first tourney. No movement ever during the year.

Now, is there anything else worth discussing on the U13b tread? If not, good luck to all in the state cup.

Well Samba parent, you deserve all you get by being at a club that is fractured. When you have DOC's that are not willing to monitor their coaches and fix problems before they escalate, don't whine about it. We moved from this club and we now play at THUSC. We love it and have coaching staff that are approachable and fair.

Too funny. Your "honest response" (about CFC and WST) is an exaggeration of the facts. You have no way of knowing who is posting on here or what their affiliation is. Besides, you can't even tell time.

Wait a minute. Didn't the Copa parent say that three players were moved to Samba before the first tournament? So did they become Samba players?

Doesn't matter anyhow. A club can allow players of the same age or younger to move between two teams, even three if they have them. Sounds like JB made the decision.

John Bain is an upstanding guy, he made the right decision in response to one of his coaches abusing a gray area in the OPL league rules. Unfortunately the same abuses continue elsewhere. Is it against the rules? No, but if I had a player on one of these "B" teams and kept seeing "A" team players started ahead of my kid, I would be pretty peeved.

I knew it! I called that one way back when.

Only sad thing is that because this tournament is so stupidly set up, almost every team makes it through to elimination round. So, FCP makes it even though they did not win a game! Weak!
