If you don't like the bitching then go somewhere else.

I don't mind it. It makes me realize that I'm glad I'm not like that and can just go with the flow when necessary. Would it be nice to have the schedule 3-4 weeks in advance? Of course but I can understand the scheduling conflicts and it's not the end of the world. Plus, it's pretty typical where ever you go, including travel tournaments. (where the scheduling is even more important for flight information)

Perfect then we can all agree to disagree without calling people names.

Once your DD starts practicing and playing with an ECNL team coming back to her OPL team will be like playing with the JV!

Playing JV may be good option for some considering the sacrifice that needs to be made to play "varsity"

The nearest "varsity" club is a 3.5 hour drive each way. So should she make the drive a few times a week or should you move the whole family.

What is the end game for making "varsity"... a college scholarship? It may be cheaper (financially and socially) to play JV and pay for college.

I agree with this. It is dangerous how in our rush to simplify we over generalize. ECNL does not necessarily equal scholarship, or playing division 1. It is one route to go, but nothing is guaranteed.

I would suggest most of us are better off keeping our destiny in our own hands, rather than chasing after programs that require us to travel 4 hours one way. Clearly peoe can make whatever choice they want, but it is good to be aware that no path is automatic.

Welcome to Talking-soccer Oregon. You should have been here a year ago, when every thread devolved into name calling wars between OYSA and OPL supporters.

At least in a dysfunctional family you speak to people face to face...
