I hate the level of disorganization too. As parents we are pulled in all directions and it should not be too much to ask for a couple of week look ahead. Even a little communication along the lines of letting parents know what weekend to expect it to start would help. If your team is traveling you really need to know more than a couple of days in advance. In order for the level of service to increase there would need to be more choices. Currently there is no motivation to provide any level of service as it is highly unlikely that you can find better in your home town. I think the one poster's attitude pretty much sums up the attitude of the OPL "if you don't like it then go somewhere else".

Mean while more an more of our best players will opt out of the system and either travel North or quit altogether. Congratulations OPL on a job poorly done!
I can guarantee that not one of the best players will opt out of the OPL due to schedules coming out late.

If you really want to improve the system like you say then get in contact with the OPL and let them know directly what needs improvement.

As for the player opting out comment, I'm pretty sure the player will go along for the ride. However, behind every player is a support system that is affected (or is it effected - never can get that right).

We were with a club, took issue with lack of opportunity, spoke to our DOC and were told in different words to go to hell. We could have gone to another local club but then we would have to deal with the animosity between parents and having to meet up with old team parents that had no insight into what we had encountered but who thought we were disloyal for leaving suddenly. This is all mirrored in the "if you don't like it then go somewhere else" approach to customer service. There are other options but they are also extreme.
