If you're that fed up then don't pay and don't play or sign your kid up for something else. It's as simple as that. I know you've paid your money so you think that gives you the right to whine but it really doesn't. Just stop. It makes you all come across like a bunch of spoiled brats. The season will go on. Hopefully your kids will have fun and hopefully they don't whine as much about referees as you all do about schedules. Oh, wait. That's next once the games actually start. It's a whole separate thread. Can't wait!

My kids played at different clubs over the past 10 years and I dont recall anyone ever complaining about when the schedules came out. I really dont. The biggest complaint about schedules that I recall was that they sometimes had places like Bend, Eugene, Medford and Roseberg on them, not when they came out.

I have not posted on this thread yet, but I wanted to add my experience of OYSA scheduling and now OPL as well as club practices, tournaments etc. I think that most coaches and soccer people just expect you to be flexible and schedule your whole life around soccer. At least some coaches understand if you have occasional conflicts and miss sometimes. Do coaches even look at calendars and plan ahead? I think that for some this is very frustrating and some end up quitting over this.
We have stuck with it because my kids are enjoying it and have found coaches that we like and can work with.
This forum might not do much good, but it is one way to communicate and vent to others who may feel the same way. What I am surprised by is that some just think this is just whining while I think it is legitimate and parents/players have a right to complain and talk to their coaches and OPL about this. If someone can do better job scheduling, by all means volunteer to help out, I personally would really appreciate some improvement, however, I have decided that this is not something I can control so I do my best to stay calm, breathe deeply and focus on making friends that can help with carpooling when we can't be there.
At least we know who we will be playing and where we might have to travel...

Even if/when the schedules do come out, they are of course subject to change. Also, we can't control the weather so there are somethings that you just have to let go of and focus your energies on helping your kid and team.

Having participated and been on the planning side (21 yrs+) I can tel you that the biggest hang ups in getting schedules out are based on: 1st-field availability. Weather and overlapping interests play in up until the last minute; 2nd-Roster adds; again, up until the last minute and getting players registered, uniforms ordered, etc.; 3rd-Coach sceduling conflicts; 4th-Player scheduling conflicts!
