Timbers parent? The comment is logical and makes sense. I'm sorry you fcsc parents drink Tina and joes cool aid and get butt hurt when someone points out you're an idiot.
LOL "get butt hurt when someone points out you're an idiot"
Checked in with this board to see what our "Vantucky neighbors to the north" are up to. It looks like it is the typical, "Timbers are the best" beating chest nonsense and the "We are cheaper so we are better" garbage. Both of your clubs needs to just let parents, coaches, and players find their best fit and stop the trash talking of each other.
By the way, just from an outsider's position, I find it hard to believe that the "only one real club in Vancouver" is not worried when they have 9 pages arguing against whatever merger is happening. If you truly didn't care, you wouldn't be trashing two smaller clubs merging.
How can you be "worried" about teams you never play? One thing Pacific FC has done very well is make sure they place most of their teams in leagues and divisions where they don't have to compete with VT teams.
Thats such a crock!! So whats your excuse why vt black had two play ups drop down and join black for the tournament?!they want to win as bad as anyone else. And sc u10s only playedproblem their regular girls.
Cry me a river. Just about every team in the Director's Cup at all ages had players from their Premier teams playing for their B and C teams. If FCSC had any decent GU11 players that were U10 age, they would have been playing too.

I would suggest that if you don't have at least 3 teams at U10 you won't have 1 team by U15. Unless you have Joe the salesman convincing people the grass is greener on the west side of I-5...

Our club had no premier players in any of the teams that competed in the Directors Cup.
Nemesis is notorious for having players play on multiple teams so if they had some U10's currently playing U11 that could have played U10 then they would have. No doubt about that. I have never seen a club so bad about that.
If VT had fielded an "A" team as Nemesis did then Nemesis would of had no chance of beating the Timbers, mainly because the Timbers would have put their "A" team in gold :)
I just don't see this merger working out too well, particularly on the boys side. If premier costs go up and come close to matching the cost at VT, there is no reason to stick around. The top players would be smart to go to VT where there is the Timbers Alliance. These boys would have the inside track to the RTC/ODP teams, there will be more opportunities for better fields, better coaches, etc... You have sponsorship money coming in which also contribute to better everything for similar pricing.
If the Pacific and SC merge I think you still end up with a Select/Rec program but with higher costs for so called 'premier' teams. There's just little reason to stick around for the top players.
Maybe that's not the case for the girls, but I really think so for the boys. What's the incentive for a top premier level boy to go to Pacific/SC over the new VT next year where pricing is about the same?
The vtimbers didn't play gold.all three teams they entered played in silver, and sc beat two of them:)
You mean the timbers academy teams, where they divide the talent and make multiple teams. Never making a true A team. So yes Vtimbers should have been in the Silver.
Which Division??? Is that the Premier Division or the select Division??
And I have seen that team, not too bad. Too bad they sand bag it so they can get results. Which Division of OPl did they play. The GOLD one like they should have? Or the Silver one?? So they could beat every team by 6 goals?
Wait, reading all these post which indicate that FCSC does not have any preimier level team coming up. Sounds like the person who posted the above as acknowledged that at least this team is a top quality team coming up. And no sandbaggers on this team just good players.

I agree that the top 14 players, either boys OR girls (why do you distinguish between them?) should gravitate to one team and Timbers is probably the best. BUT, there are still some reasons that they might not, including the choice of coach and amount of travel (both to practice, if they live on the westside, and around the state, if VT are doing RCL). If the kid is top 14 in county, though, and wants to commit to soccer in a big way, VT should be the first choice.
In Portland, the same can be said of FCP and WST. Right?

VT also has a game changer coming in Delta Park fields. Three new turf fields and a new indoor center are going to be built. Fields to be ready by April of 2013. VTimbers have inside track and have already committed to taking those fields. Rectruiting will forever change as now VTimbers will have access to all PDX players.
I know the naysayers out there will b!tch and moan about this saying that no one in their right mind would play for VTimbers and thats fine, say what you would like. You can't argue that it is an extremely positive event for VTimbers.

So, who is your source? Not only fields at Delta Park but also an indoor center? What happend to the Harmony fields? Fields to be ready by 2013? Is the ground broken? Give me a break...
Another huge problem these clubs have, especially VT because that is where I am at, is promising the world and never delivering. If it isn't set in stone, don't announce it, just like is good business practice.

Yes, the VT need to learn the phrase: Underpromise / Overdeliver. The club that I coach for gets a lot of former timber's players who played on "premier teams" that played Div 1 or below. The problem that these players had there was 1) Other than their "A" team, the rest of their teams are no better than other options, 2) Players are promised the moon when recruited as far as turf, training time with the A squad, guesting with the A squad, etc.
Unless you have a guaranteed spot on their A team, be wary of what they are selling.
Other than their "A" team, the rest of their teams are no better than other optionsQUOTE]
Isn't that the way it is everywhere? Almost all "B" teams are worse than other club's "A" teams.
Yes... but I think the poster is referring to the VT parents are coming on here talking about how "everyone" needs to go to their club as they are the best option. It simply isn't true.
Unless you are on the A team, save yourself $1000 a year and play for the newly merged Pacific club.
