If you think about the phrase:

Anything for a win. It does a bit to describe fcsc and their coaches. Putting their better teams in lower brackets it win it all and say they are champions. Overuse players from different age groups and sit current players to get wins, teaching bootball to get wins, hiring notorious coaches etc.

As long as they avoid competition against neighboring clubs they can stave off the inevitable of parents getting smart and leaving.

Congrats for being a moron and not seeing they weren't smearing just pointing out the obvious about the club making choices. You must be the fcsc parent who doesn't understand why winning isn't everything.

I agree with your first paragraph and your overview of the current situation for both of the senior teams (except it is Title IX). But, the key point that needs to be made is that the vision has to be the correct vision, not the one outlined by Reyna on the US Soccer website. It has to be the right system with proven results; developed, maintained and implemented by both soccer and BUSINESS people to ensure the proper results. But, again, it has to be the right system.

We have to be a little careful about them implementing a system that is just a joke. Imagine if VT actually had a system, call it "kick and chase", that wouldn't solve the problem. Ultimately, it is a management problem within US Soccer. A clear example is this...not only do we not have a clear system, we aren't even consistent what size goals, fields or number of players that are on the field at U11. WA is 9v9, Oregon is 11v11, NCal is 8v8 and SCal is 11v11. That is a complete joke and a micro chasm of the broken system.

Agree and the sad thing is that soccer is all about the money and egos! Crazy, don't know what all sports are like, but nothing that I have seen compares to soccer.

Way to get off on a tangent about the state of US soccer. Thought we were talking about a possible merger.

Here's what I say: if you want to be the BEST club, with the BEST coaching techniques, and the BEST vision, there is a club already for that in Vancouver. VT/WSA. Go there and work with their DOC about what you or Reyna or whoever think needs to be done. And good luck to you with that.

Is Pacific is shooting to be the BEST club in the area? AFAIK, this was never the point. So coaches should be able to do what they want without a lot of heavy handed management.

But if Pacific and FCSC get in bed together, all bets are off. The new club might want to be the "westside alternative to Timbers", as someone else wrote. I'd much rather see the Premier/diehard/dedicated parents and kids go off to form a strong VT team and leave Pacific+FCSC as a decent 2nd choice.

It looks like it is the typical, "Timbers are the best" beating chest nonsense and the "We are cheaper so we are better" garbage. Both of your clubs needs to just let parents, coaches, and players find their best fit and stop the trash talking of each other.

By the way, just from an outsider's position, I find it hard to believe that the "only one real club in Vancouver" is not worried when they have 9 pages arguing against whatever merger is happening. If you truly didn't care, you wouldn't be trashing two smaller clubs merging.

Who's arguing against this merger? It'll be the best thing for VT since the WSA merger and the Timbers Alliance deal.
