I am a parent of a player. We came over after recruitment by Lu, and my daughter has had great season and learned so much about the sport and teamwork/team building. Lu is an amazing coach and the girls loved working with her. She only had the best interest for the girls at heart. The girls trusted her and loved playing for her. She led her team to be in the top of their division. It’s going to be rough moving forward with a new coach and a new coaching style. I personally feel like United dropped the ball after a complaint by a parent or player and then when Safesports became involved there was a panic and they fired her immediately. This is only speculation because neither United nor Safesports will say why she was terminated pending outcome of their investigation, which has been ongoing for at least a month. The new coach is good, from what i can tell so far, it it’s not been a few practices and we are still feeling out his coaching style. Regardless, as long as the girls benefit and help develop a potential future in the sport, should they choose to continue on, I am here to support them and support Lu as best i can from the sidelines.

We forget that coaches are also humans. By safesport, texting is improper so there’s that. All my sons coaches have texted them.

PDX community is the worst! Do we know these coaches personal lives? I almost made the transition from ecnl to UPDX to play for Lu because it shows how much she cares for these girls and as a parent that is what I want. I can’t be present all the time and I’d hope a coach could support them in ways we cant

She was fired because BM is a snake! He texted players all the time for recruiting and nothing else. This should be a violation, but it's not. They just needed a reason to get her out. Cowards! Safesport says she can still coach. Talk about messing with someone's mental health—shame on BM. But, nothing surprises me with its guy.
