Unless there was a SafeSport or similar issue (and a big reason for SafeSport is so coaches who are abusers cannot hide behind employer confidentiality like Paul Riley), I know of no reason she wouldn't be employable at another club, especially if her dismissal from uPDX was for for something unrelated to player relations.
If she is found guilty of a SafeSport violation, she can face various sanctions including being placed on US Soccer's ineligible list, meaning she can't work for any US Soccer-affiliated club (which includes all OYSA and ECNL clubs). But such a thing won't happen without an investigation and due process. I haven't looked recently, but AFAIK there are no complaints against her in the SafeSport database or other indications she's being investigated.
So why was she fired? I dunno. Might be she did something really bad. Or perhaps she pissed off BM--though he seems smart enough to know that if he wants to run a top-level club, he needs a quality coaching staff, not one composed of toadies and yes-men (or yes-women) who know that rule #1 is never challenge the boss.Comment

I am a parent of a player. We came over after recruitment by Lu, and my daughter has had great season and learned so much about the sport and teamwork/team building. Lu is an amazing coach and the girls loved working with her. She only had the best interest for the girls at heart. The girls trusted her and loved playing for her. She led her team to be in the top of their division. It’s going to be rough moving forward with a new coach and a new coaching style. I personally feel like United dropped the ball after a complaint by a parent or player and then when Safesports became involved there was a panic and they fired her immediately. This is only speculation because neither United nor Safesports will say why she was terminated pending outcome of their investigation, which has been ongoing for at least a month. The new coach is good, from what i can tell so far, it it’s not been a few practices and we are still feeling out his coaching style. Regardless, as long as the girls benefit and help develop a potential future in the sport, should they choose to continue on, I am here to support them and support Lu as best i can from the sidelines.Originally posted by Guest View PostComment
