What issue? The former mayor of Beaverton who got busted for kiddie porn, who was on the team's board of directors? That AFAIK has nothing to do with the club, as he wasn't involved with players in any way, and as soon as it became known that he was in trouble for this he was booted from the board. Unfortunately, there are lots of dirty old men in powerful places (it just got revealed over the weekend that a prominent newspaper magnate, long a promoter of "family values" and right-wing causes, was porking his daughter).

Or is there some other issue that I'm not aware of?

Good question. Speaking as a parent, we got to have an axe on our jerseys. And for those parents whose kids attracted Academy attention, Westside coaches wouldn't stand in their way.

Other than that, the benefit to the club? Hard to say really. Looks like Cony and company have decided it's no longer worth it. Why, of course, isn't going to be discussed publicly.

But now that's two Alliance clubs that have bolted. Due to the Polo/Riley issues? Due to some change in the posture of Peregrine towards alliance clubs and youth soccer in general? I've no idea.

But from my point of view... meh. I'm just wondering if we will switch back to blue jerseys. Website is still showing the new red/white kit for next season, but has not been changed to reflect the announcement.

WSM is very bad at the social media thing... they have Instagram and FB posts up congratulating their 09 team, but not their 08 team. I'm going to chalk this one up to "guy running social media account is not good at his job" (because, TBH, he isn't) rather than any sleight or disrespect to the 08 team.

After all, Cony is taking over 08 Copa Red next season, so you would think they would get some love...

It’s 2 clicks to change a user name. And the tryouts were slim so they don’t even have that much to do.

so slim they are emailing about supplemental tryouts for all the teams . That email still says Westside Timbers in the text

it’s just that they are disorganized stop making excuses
