Summer Surf is the tournament to win. Thanksgiving Surf is good but doesn't draw the same competition. Both are great tournaments but everyone knows Thanksgiving Surf is no where near the quality of summer Surf. I have had a child attend both for years. I wish the VT Timbers the best of luck! It will still be one of the better tournaments for the year!

My older went with THUSC and it was extremely competitive and they struggled.


FYI:

Got soccer ranks tournaments based on the calabre teams that are there not just the tournament. For girls its the #1 tournament in the country right now based on the girls teams that GO.

Take the top 5 teams at the GU-13 age this summer. Take away Manteca from Cal N and you have 4 of the top ranked teams in the country.....

If you know ANYTHING you will know that the Summer has MORE teams but the Thanksgiving tournament is better per team.. Jesus, where do you get your facts?

Agree that anything your team does somehow gets posted on hear as the greatest achievement ever including 0-3 at the mustang.

Oh gotsoccer. Glad you were able to read it on the internet. Just being honest its not as competitive as the summer one where the TOP 5 S Cal teams showed up.

What was your tournament record this year against top teams outside of Oregon? That must have really impressed the surf cup reviewers.

It would appear that the San Diego Surf Thanksgiving Tournament is the #1 soccer tournament in the nation. Good for a local team to get accepted! VT is the best GU13 team around here so it's a feather in our areas cap to have a local team in such a high caliber tournament. Even if they don't win a game what an experience for them. How many of us can say we've played the best? None of us can.
I'll admit I'm jealous too! I wish I could be in SanDiego in November! I wish my daughters team were going! Maybe I'll see if she can guest play but I bet a bunch of you have already beaten me to the punch!
Anyway, good luck to the Timbers and don't mind the rest of us jealous types!

Did you miss the post where they were 0-3 in Mustang but were so competitive Surf accepted them? A little arrogant.

They must be hurting for teams because in the last 2 years the Timbers have not fared well where quality teams have showed up. I heard Oregon Rush was accepted also.

I checked the GotSoccer website and for Girls the # 1 ranked tournament in the country is the San Diego Surf Thanksgiving Tournament followed closely by the Surf Cup.

Both Surf Tourneys are great and a lot of top caliber teams, but the summer tournament had more than 200 teams per age group apply and only 20 get in. Summer tourney has much higher caliber of teams, but winning either one is a great accomplishment

1. Timbers will go "0 for" against the California teams at surf and we will hear about how they dominated the game.
2. Timbers will bring guest players to try and compete.

If you're going by gotsoccer rankings then that shows that you know nothing. Everyone knows those rankings are meaningless and half the time don't even make sense.

And what team does your DD play for? Regardless of your answer (which you won't provide), it is for a team with less wins, less skill, and less potential than the VT Timbers at the U13G age group. So shut your pie hole. I am truly not even with this VT team. But it's getting old. Stop bagging on them.
