Valencia clearly showed that they are a better team than THUSC, Eugene, Lake Oswego, Bend, and probably FC Portland if they weren't so dodgy playing weak teams and avoiding everyone etc.

I think the coaches on Bridlemile or WSM would be the first to tell you that they couldn't duplicate what Valencia did to those teams this summer. So instead, now you have a team that will for sure lock up a promotion spot in D1 by destroying teams instead of a team that actually belongs with that competition.

Think about it. Angela has her head so far up her #@#@ that she and clearly alot of people aren't seeing that is SHOULD be about the kids. And developmentally speaking, Premier kids would fare better with Valencia, while 1st division with BSC or WSM.

Its ok though, dig your heals in and continue to do what everyone expects you do to, think about yourself not the kids.
This is why people do not like Valencia. It is parents like this. Valencia is not THAT good. Good, yes, but Premier will be fine without them and will welcome playing the Valencia GIRLS in the spring again and next fall after they EARN their spot like everyone else had to. The team made their choices, now be a grown-up and accept the consequences.

Again, your centered on the team not the whole of both divisions. You fit right in with Angela

Better, based upon a summer tournament? Please! Let it go already. I'm sure if you talk to most of the Valencia parents and kids they would agree that they would compete with the other top 4 Oregon teams for the top spots this fall. But clearly better? Don't think so. I wish we all could be in the same league this fall so we could quiet you down. But instead we get to listen to you whine and complain the next 5 months.

Valencia can show whatever the hell they want and all the families knew that if they left that this is exactly what would happen. All of you knew...especially the manager who was the liaison for the defecting players and their families. He spoke for them and didn't give them all the information except for the distorted and fabricated lies. Their is a possibility that most of the families didn't know...but the coaches, manager, & WSA all knew.

Explain Valencia Advocate...why are you NOT playing in the RCL? That was where you wanted to play and were assured that you would be playing RCL 1 or 2. Why are you not whining about how far up the @$$ the RCL people are for not recognizing how AWESOME you are and definitely belong in RCL 2 if not RCL 1??? Explain please...

I think the whole of both divisions and the league is better off following the rules that everyone knew about well in advance. I'm sure you'd think much differently is you were BSC or WT and earned your spot.

Such anger. Sounds like you have a bigger issue with them leaving then they do about leaving FCSC. You should remove fingers 1-4 from your @$$ which could alleviate the pain you are feeling and account for you anger.

And remember that these divisional placements were agreed to by the club DoCs. If Valencia has a beef, they need to talk with Gary and Sunny...

No anger here, but here's a box of tissue for your whinny @$$. Way to avoid the questions though. :)

If the OPL is so bad and the teams in the OPL are not really all that good then why didn't your team join the RCL? You belong to a club that is a part of the RCL, correct? Why didn't you just jump to RCL Division 1 and play in WA?

Not the poster, but I thought they just used the RCl as a good enough reason to get away from SC. I don't think they really cared about RCL, again just wanted the sign off to get away from Joe. I sure am going to miss the Joe and Victor stories. I am sure there will still be a few but those two combined and working in tandem were epic.

You might be right but if the team is so good then the RCL definitely would have bent the rules for them and allowed them in to Division 1, right? And if they were so good, why wouldn't they want to play in the mighty RCL vs the little OPL?

Good Lord, how many times does this have to be answered. SW Wa teams would love to stay in the RCL. But competition is not the only criteria for making a decision between RCL and OPL. When you have to drive to Seattle, Spokane, Yakima, and Bellingham you think twice about where you want to play. The travel costs are tremendous. And you pay for the coaches travel too. In most cases, you can trade off a little competition for the benefits. The OPL is solid, I am not going to bash it. But it isn't as strong as the RCL and that's just fact. Teams weigh their options and make a decision. Simple as that.

How can you say in sentence 1 all the families knew but then in sentence 2 say didn't give them the information. Moron.

My family was involved and the manager kept everything transparent. FCSC's own Cameron and Jeff followed up with many intuitive emails and phone calls that explained what our options were and what would happen. If anybody says they were mislead they should deal with the manager directly. I find it hard to believe when everything is in writing. It was not a hard decision to leave SC at all because of people like YOU.

The Valencia parents feel that we are competitive but in NO way do we think we are better than the top premier teams so please do not post like a parent from this team with stupid comments like that. We have had a great run this summer and enjoyed all the competition.

There is another side to the arguement as well.
The OPC had a decision to amend the rules to allow the Vancouver Timbers into the OPL as a full member. In return Vtimbers would bring all their teams and be allowed to play in the OPL State Cup.
                              The OPC voted no.

So as it stands the VTimbers bring all their young teams to the OPL (saves travel and wear and tear on young families). They bring there Older B teams (doesn't make sense to travel when adequate competition can be found in the OPL). VTimbers send their older A teams to the RCL.

Actually worked best for the players/teams and glad the "Club" was rebuked by the OPL. The current arrangement allows the teams to decide what league to play in based on what is important to the team / players / families.
I for one am glad the OPL said no. If it would have been yes then the decision would have been dictated by the club.
Fun to play the OR teams in the summer tournaments and NWCL but that's enough ... back to the RCL is awesome. Don't need to play the same teams over and over again in the OPL.
Variety of competition is a good thing.
