While I agree that Valencia is the favorite for the #1 spot I'm thinking they'll have a couple scares.
I watched the Valencia vs. Liberty game at this years Clash at the Border. Valencia was lucky to get out of there with a win.

      Let the games begin!

They seem to have trouble with a few teams, NEU THUSC, B team, WSA, RUSH

        Good fit for that team.

Don't forget that Rogue Valley came in a close 3rd in the fall and dominated scoring. They will be a contender for 2nd place.

Did any of the middle of the pack teams have major roster or coaching changes that could generate some surprises this fall?

I don't see a lot of surprises with Fall League - the top 4 will dominate and it will be EMFC, FC or THUSC to win the league.

Liberty has a good team with good athletes. Every now and then luck is needed to get by; that day it was with Valencia.

Liberty should have a bone to pick with the scheduler though. Only 2 games in the tournament. I would ask for my money back.

Are all the age groups and genders out? Where did you get this info? thanks. I don't see it on OPL website.

Go to OPl, team pages on the top left, pick your club, find your team and then it will show which Division and which teams are in that Division.

It's kind of hidden right now.

And yet they will be 3rd, 4th, 5th best in the area behind Timbers Red and Valencia. Still, pretty good.

Definitely agree that the GU-13 Timbers Reds would have been a real positive addition to the OPL GU-13 Premier Division and dramatically elevated fall 2012 competition.

Valencia propaganda back in action i see. Let's see...they were 1st at GU-11 OPL premier in 2010 and 4th at GU-12 in OPL premier in 2011. Yet the old coach and team manager said they had to leave their former club (FCSC) because they were not sufficiently being challenged and wanted better competition like that found in the RCL.

Today the team would be lucky to crack the fall 2012 top 5 at OPL GU-13 given their coaching dysfunction, toxic parents and weak bench...

Seems prudent to wait and see what they do in Division 1 before throwing the towell in at them. After all we are talking about 12-13 year old kids.
I'm not affiliated with the Valencia team in any way but I hope they surprise us all.
It only makes the league better etc.
I have always had a soft spot for the underdog and I hope they prove popular convention wrong!

most of us have soft spots for underdogs. the valencia team by no stretch of most folks imaginations (those how have been paying attention) would consider them so. rather they come across as brash, arrogant and better then everybody else...as personified by their old coach, team manager and some of the team parents.

what will be interesting...is just how long this team will perform before it blows up as has been the clear and consistent pattern with the old coach who is still pulling the strings trying to hang onto his meal ticket...
