We all love the timbers
We all love the timbers, happy they are here. We just hate the crap product they spew on the field and the elitist attitude. They are in last, they are worse then they were last year and now their DA U18 team is off to a rocky start and the U16's got beat by Jr High kids

5 Young men didn't want to play at Jesuit...they chose the Academy..that's a downer
From the article in today's paper it looks like at least one player made that call and it's pretty tough to find a downside in playing for Jesuit.[/QUOTE]
The reality is what it is.

it is not the program
It is not the DA program it is the Timbers / ESUFC management to blame here.
PLEASE MP listen to our crys !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Get the Timbers out of youth soccer except for your DA program. Hire real coahces not club coaches.

History -- taking in the 18 years of the NPSL and the North American Soccer League -- speaks harshly about the ability of Brit coaches to impose their style on this country's pro leagues. If Rennie (Vancouver) fails to see that, he might want to listen to another Scot, ManU’s legendary Alex Ferguson, who had this to say this past weekend on the matter of recruiting players:
“The South Americans love playing football, it's just in their blood. The three Brazilians -- Anderson, Rafael and Fabio -- love it and are first to training every morning. It's a breath of fresh air. Antonio Valencia is as tough as nails with great discipline about him. Chicharito has a fantastic attitude to playing and everything else. It's really good. Our scouting there has increased. We've got an operative in Mexico, two in Brazil and four South American scouts now. We've done very well in Central and South America in the last two or three years.”
Words -- advice, even -- from the master himself. And this is decidedly not a call for recruiting along ethnic lines. It sounds much more like an appeal for style, and it is not his native Scottish, of even Brit, style that he is talking about.
It would be a shame to see Vancouver (hmmmm - Portland), with its tremendous fan base, led down the same dead end into which Mo Johnston took the equally fervently backed Toronto FC.

PS The guy who seems to be complaining the loudest says his kid is on the team. Maybe he's just making that up.

Standard answer once youve been called out. Notice how after they shoot their mouth off, called out, claim theyve made it, but arent quite willing then to tell everyone who their kid is.
Probably dont want to reap the repercussion from their ill feelings.

I don't think it's made up. I have little doubt that there would be repercussions. The fact you think he was "called out" and made something up and question the fear of retribution suggests unfamiliarity with the age groups and the persons involved.
