    To All Westside Members:
    *
Our Club anticipated entering all our teams in the 2012 OPL State Cup.* It has come to our attention that USSF Bylaw 603 and Policy 212-1 provides that a club can’t restrict teams from entering the USYSA National Cup Series which is administered by OYSA.* This USSF bylaw states that we must provide teams with the option in playing in a USYSA sanctioned event (such as the OYSA State Cup or President’s Cup) or US Club Soccer sanctioned events. Our legal team and Board has reviewed the USSF Bylaw and have concluded that we must inform our members that they have a choice as to which event your team wants to participate.
    *
In deciding which event will participate in, it is important to note that this is a team decision.* Please* schedule a team meeting as soon as possible to discuss these choices. * You will also receive input from your coaches.* The following information is provided in order to help your decision process.
    *
Playing in OYSA State (USYSA National Cup):
    *
·******** In entering the tournament, you agree that if the team is declared winner of the Oregon State Championship, you will be the Oregon representative and you must participate in USYSA Regional in Phoenix, Arizona or be subject to sanctions and penalties.
·******** We anticipate that a team winning the USYSA Oregon State Cup will spend approximately $1,000 per individual in order to attend this event in Phoenix, AZ.
·******** Each team will be required to pay a $17 per player card cost with OYSA.* This card is required in order to participate in this event.
·******** Each team that is declared the USYSA Oregon State Cup Champions will also have to pay a Far West Regional Entry Fee of $500 for the U12 and U13 age groups and corresponding $700 for the U14 and up age groups.
·******** Each team that enters the USYSA Oregon State Cup will have pay $300 to take part in a qualifying tournament/league in order to be eligible to participate in the USYSA State Cup.* Other arrangements can be made to lessen this cost.
    *
    Playing is USYSA President’s Cup
    *
·******** In entering the tournament, you agree that if the team is declared winner of the Oregon President’s Cup , you will be the Oregon representative and you must participate in President Cup Regionals in* Arvada, Colorado or be subject to sanctions and penalties.
·******** We anticipate that a team winning the Oregon President’s Cup will spend approximately $1,000 per individual in order to attend this event in Colorado.
·******** Each team will be required to pay a $17 per player card cost with OYSA.* This card is required in order to participate in this event.
·******** Each team that is declared the *Oregon President’s *Cup Champions will also have to pay a Far West Regional Entry Fee of $575.
·******** Each team that enters the Oregon President ‘s State Cup will have pay $300 to take part in a qualifying tournament/league in order to be eligible to participate in the President’s *Cup.* Other arrangements can be made in order lessen this cost.
    *
Playing in the OPL State Cup:
    *
·******** If you team is declared the OPL State Cup Champion you have the option of attending US Club Nationals in Chicago, IL
·******** We anticipate teams winning the OPL State Cup and electing to attend the US Club Nationals in Chicago, IL to spend approximately $1,000 per individual in order to attend this event.
    *
We would like your team’s decision communicated to the Westside Office by 3:00 P.M. Tuesday March 20th, 2012.* Teams not communicating their decision by this deadline will be automatically entered in the OPL State Cup.** We apologize for the short notice.
    *
Please remember that you must be in good financial standing with the Club in order to participate in Club sponsored events.*
    *
Should you have any questions regarding the above, please contact our club president* Davy Dupon at president@westsidemetros.com

    *
    Sincerely,
    *
    The Westside Metros Board
Didnt they miss a few points ?

I thought OYSA was offering a pro-rated player card. Didnt OYSA offer to pay for the Far West Regional/President Cup entry fees to the state's winners ?

Am I dreaming this, or did I read it somewhere ?

If so, the additional costs really are only a few bucks for the card and the qualifying tourney....or....about $22 per player.

There needs to be no law suit. USSF is the cop, judge and jury and can hand down the sanctions and/or force US Club to remove the leagues sanctions in the future. This is not the first violation of USSF regulations since the inception of the OPC. You only get so many warnings, then it's game over.

The letter from USYS was pretty clear when it told US Club that the OPC was not notify all their member clubs and their teams of their options.

My kid plays for an OPC club and Ive not received that notification as of yet.

Ireland was told to pull out and we are pissed. We are not happy with TA and his lack of leadership.

Since when did Ireland ever listen to it's club DOC ? They have proven they walk to the beat of their own drum. Did a leadership in parents take place ? Someone misplace their purse ?

            notify of choices

since when does anyone have to provide anyone with list of soccer tourn. Here is the deal. OYSA sucks and no one wants to play with them. Because of this they ran to tell big brother who basically said screw off, so US Youth Soccer who gets$$$$ from OSYA won't a BS letter to JB only.

We all know the choices we all picked OPL. It is called freedom of choice OYSA deal with it. You can't make people give you money in the USA you have to earn it.

Nobody has to at all, but you cannot limit or restrict any player from playing wherever they want within USSF. If a team decides they want to play in an AYSO (as example) tourney, an OPC club cannot deny/restrict or hinder them the opportunity to do so, even if it conflicts with the OPL state cup.

By not allowing the teams to vote (with accurate information) and instead automatically entering them into the OPL cup, they have hindered, restricted and/or denied them the opportunity to choose. Kinda like Obama's health plan.

                Your Crazy OYSA

This is just OYSA trying to save the $$$ bacon because they are going out of business. Here they are make sure everyone knows they have choice but when you ran soccer in Oregon there were no choices.

There are choices now and we are not playing OYSA to bad, so sad for you !

                    OYSA State Cup

Anyone know how OYSA will deal with the brackets with only 1 team.

Also some age groups have just two or three teams, will they play the other team best of 5 or something?

U-14G Usonians. I'm going to assume the Rage will go OYSA also. Right now the other team is a Medford team. I'm hearing now that the new DOC in Bend (Rush) will send their teams to OYSA state cup as well. Who knows though.

Brian Scott at the OYSA office is more then helpful. Call him and ask. I was told that they brackets that were short of team would probably play up or down depending on the competition. Which could be a good thing.

Do you have their number ?

Ireland will play in both state cups. We have taken up a collection and have paid of the US Government and Gaff will be allowed to come back and coach our team, we DON'T need T.A.
You silly people, don't mess with the Emeralds (Ireland's real THUSC name).
