You are.......

You continue to make the Human Error the end all for this. Referee's have a impact, but not to the level of Player's and Coaches. Where is your discussion to improve Coaching or Player training. Maybe we need a Parent blog on how to improve the behavior and training of the other sideline 'Coaches'.

I'm in agreement we need to do something and if it is as cheap as he/she says it is then what are we waiting for?

You will always find error in officiating. Every game. Always. Play through it and learn when to shut your mouth - or get tossed from the game. Otherwise, you are just making excuses.

Good Point but they will miss that

Here is to granting respect to the referee. The Coaches are the blame here.

People also need to understand that the more you bitch and yell at refs, the less they want to officiate your games. Eventually they decide they don't want to be subject to these idiots yelling at them and quit. Then, we lose that developing official. Nothing gained and now you get another new ref officiating your game. Congratulations.
People simply need to show more respect to others.

How about we all pay triple and pay for better officials. Lord knows, little Johnny wasn't offside, right?

Or, we accept errors happen and play through them.
Stop making excuses.

We just came off a weekend of games and saw some of the worst officiating I have ever seen. The AR had no clue what he was doing and wouldn't make a call until the center ref did. Made judging offside and out of bounds a bit difficult. Not to mention he was never even with the defense.
I'm sorry but for the amount of money we pay for soccer I would expect that the officials are held accountable for their actions or lack of actions. They should at the very least know and understand the game and be able to run and keep up with the action. Human error or judgement calls will always be part of the game and that I expect. What I don't expect is a ref that purely has no idea what he is doing.

The difference is our kids are continually training and trying to improve their game. Most officials are doing nothing to get better and only doing what little training is required.
There are without a doubt good officials out there but sadly the many bad ones ruin it for them. I'm sure the good officials don't care much for the bad ones either and wouldn't mind seeing them get more training.

How about they respect the game enough to want to train. It's pretty obvious to me that some of these refs are out there for the money only and could care less about doing a good job. Why should they when they're not held accountable for it? If they can't even make it up and down the field they should not be allowed to ref the game.

I would also point out that the subject of this thread is how to IMPROVE the officials not beat up on them. What the original poster outlined seems reasonable and unbelievably cheap. Would you NOT be willing to pay $30 more per year for better officiating? I’d be willing to pay $100 more if we could get the quality of officiating we get during State Cup!
