    I thought maybe they were holding off so they could switch teams around if there was a conflict such as same league teams. But I really want to know where the top 20 sit in the top and bottom bracket. I guess I will have to wait.

      There is a sample 32 team bracket based on the RPI number. Just check your teams RPI and see what team you may face based off of opponent RPI. Subject to change based off same league conflicts but it should give you some idea.

        The top 20 are not yet set. (Not even the top 16 given Southridge has a play-in game) So the brackets cannot be created until after play-in games are complete. (Lincoln, Beaverton, and St. Mary's also top 20 with play-in games.)

        Also, the game today with Canby and Sunset will have an impact on final RPI positions as well.

          Correction. RPI was frozen on Saturday night. So sunset/canby will have no impact.

            On the Boy's side this is a huge mess. Looking at the metro league 4 of the top 5 teams are metro teams. This means at least one top five team will play in the play in games. I assume once they know who is eliminated they reshuffle the deck before doing seedings.

            Is there anyone who knows how that works?

              Check the OSAA website. It's real simple. All the teams are ranked, and the rankings have been frozen since Saturday. The top three teams from each league do not play a play in game. Once the play in games are settled, then whatever your team's ranking is determines who you play. For example, the top four teams in the rankings will be a number one seed. the next four will be two seeds and so on. The ones will play the eights, the twos the sevens, and so on in the first round. If you check out your team's ranking, you'll be able to guestimate one or two teams your team might play.

                I see the brackets. I know 1 through 20 are 'in'. I understand where/who the #1's are, #2's and so on are, and where each goes in the bracket.

                Here's my question;
                I see all the 'play-in' games, but where will the winners be placed? Who will be determined #6? #7? #8 seed?

                Can anyone explain this?

                I have read the OSAA site but can't seem to decipher where the winners are placed.

                  It is fairly simple: After the play-in games, the teams will be placed based on their RPI ranking, which is already frozen. For example, if Southridge wins their play-in game, they are the 13th ranked team and will be placed accordingly. (A #4 seed in the second group of 8) The 20 teams that are 'in' already will also be placed based on their RPI. For example, Sprague is in, and is the 25th ranked team. Thus, they will land as a #7 seed within a group of 8. From what I see, they would normally land in the first group of 8, however, that puts them against S. Salem, which is in their league. So instead, they would likely fall to the 26th spot and puts them against Barlow. (Still a #7 seed)

                    Looks like O-live is doing some live updates of play-in games which is nice. But if you have more details or things that aren't posted yet, please do. Good luck to all the girls and boys tonight!!

                      Mercy rule needed.

                              I agree with the ones listed. N. Medford got really lucky with their ranking as teams are going to have to travel to them.
