Absolutely! My question was more aimed at the intent of the folks organizing this, are they going to feel it was successful if ir is just the exact same kids they would pull through ODP?

We want this to succeed so the will keep doing it, so it would be good to know what they con side success to be.

      ODP = Money

This is going to kick up a storm, but ODP requires money.

This sessions is Free. Re-hashing ODP will have some players, but it opens to door for other not able to afford it.

The session is open to the public to watch. I will be there doing just that.

Actually it is the opposite! It is saying a lot. If the DOC was simply wanting volume and numbers from his club it would be so easy to nominate all of the ODP girls from last year. But he didn't there are a couple from last year and one of those girls is a 98 that played in the 97 pool, most the 97 girls didn't get invited for this.

Such a great point! My daughter played in the state pool last year as a 98. Great experience, but cost us $1,200, and we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. Her sister did the regional pool but didn't make state and all of those fees added up to $330. We are not sure if we can afford to do it again this year, horrid to say but I don't know what we would do if both made it! I am just being honest, on top of club fees uniforms and travel, we are happy to do it for our girls and grateful that they have amazing opportunities but it is a struggle! We are tickled pink at this opportunity, even one more session of training and different experience for the kids so so great!

It's not saying much because the list before WSM narrowed it down was much, much bigger. The original list sent to WSM had over 60 girls on it (from various clubs). The DOC was simply wanting volume but was denied. A happy medium had to be met to keep the DOC happy and not make the Mobile Training Center feel as if they were wasting their time.

I'm guessing most DOC's just sent kids to send them but it's not too bad of an idea as long as the Mobile Traning center comes back year after year. I just hope they don't feel as if they've wasted their time if the DOC's aren't going to take this seriously.
If there are 98's that are better from the same club, why would they send inferior ones? You don't make sense. Must be your opinion, I don't see what a DOC would gain by that. And don't throw out politics, because two of the kids on the list are my kids, and I am the least politically connected parent there is, I don't have any type of connection that would put my children above anyone else.

I meant that they're not as strong as some of the '98's from other clubs, like WSM, FC, etc. WSM didn't send many as they know this is for the top of the top. Some DOC's don't seem to care.

Well wsm doesn't have anyone on their u12 team that is that caliber but thusc u12 teams have a lot. Unless u were just mostly talking about wsm's u13 team

Are you kidding me? LOL......Anything involving THUSC DOC is political. And I am guessing that last post came from a very well known and misguided 99 parent of a particular Onyx player.

Well, I have to admit this addresses some of my skepticism. It will be interesting to see reports of how things go. Best of luck to all the kids.

In Oregon soccer, if you are not political you don't survive. Sad but true.

No club DOC is going to send players that are not up to standard. If they do then they will lose credibility for themselves and their club. This would cause their future selections to be taken less seriously. No DOC wants that for their club and players.

Too many of the best players are held back in this country by the money side of the game which is not right. The MTC concept is hopefully going to allow the best players, regardless of finances, to get the exposure their talent merits.

How will that happen when it's left up to your clubs DOC to decide who goes and who doesnt ? wouldnt it be better if they held tryouts, then let the training staff decide who stays ?

How can a DOC who rarely visits or sees players on all their teams decide "whos the best" ?

The FREE aspect is what will draw everyone to it in the first place.
