New to the area and researching clubs in central FL area. I am a GK parent and noticed that OCYS has a goalkeeping school that is held during the year at a cost of $295 each term which is fall, winter and spring. Does the club offer any specialized training for keepers on other days of the week that is free to club members or should I expect to pay an additional $900 during the year on top of all other charges if I want my son to have specialized GK training outside of normal team practice? In our old club the GK training was included in fees and paying for additional GK training is new to me and I didn't see any similar listings for other clubs I've researched in the area. Any information would be great as OCYS comes recommended and I wanted to know if anybody had any prior experience with this and was it worth it as I do not have unlimited funds? Thanks!

It's been worth it for my child. When it comes to the cost/extra time involved, that's a decision for your family to make. Call OC to get the exact informaion. You can also contact the coach of the team your child is or will be on. See what regiment your son will be on during regular practice sessions...If you don't like what you hear, go somewhere else.

One of my players is a GK heading to college. My recommendation is go talk to all of them at local clubs, find the best fit. Most will be happy to include your kid in a GK session at no charge.
Good Luck
