It takes more than a one page website to achieve your mission statement. Enough of the BS. You know your scholarships are used to recruit good players to your competitive teams. Show the community you truly want to grow soccer by reaching into neighborhoods without organized soccer.

I don't think that is correct. OC dropped their request for priority access for fields, but I don't think that means the other clubs are now required to give away free coaching. OC still has that obligation. The fields are now just available to any club who is willing to pay for them. OC has to figure out some other way of providing the free programs.

The coalition is concerned about their ability to make money by using these fields to charge parents to attempt the semblance of teaching their kid soccer. It is nothing as dignified as doing free training and coaching for all children. At least OC has the intention of doing both, make money and help underprivileged kids.

I'm an OC supporter, but I woudn't characterize the free training as "dignified." As I said earlier, OC wouldn't provide these programs to this extent if they weren't required to. It is something that they are doing in return for getting what they want (money).

OC is destroying credibility right and left. They will have no youth program here shortly. They will lose ECNL and then their entire girls program. They will then lose a large part of their boys program and basically be down to DA players. They have another year at best.

Then what are all of the other clubs worried about? You guys should be celebrating, because OC is still required to help fund the new fields even if they don't have a youth club. So you are going to have 14 new fields, and you can fight over all of OCYS' players, except for a small number of DA players. Also, the MLS club is expected to generate additional interest and participation in youth soccer, so you will have even more players wanting to get into your programs. Why all of the fuss? You should be calling the OC offices and thanking Phil for everything he is doing for your clubs. He isn't creating one mega club - he is helping to create several mega clubs.

If parents are paying for services, it isn't free training. That isn't the same thing as OC providing free training in return for receiving public funding for the stadium. Maybe we should stop talking about "free" training. Nothing is free - it's just a question of who is paying for it. So it is taxpayer funded training, OC funded training, parent funded training, etc.

If OC subsidizes the purple teams next? I'm going to tell my son to get his butt in gear so that he can make a purple team and I can stop paying for soccer ; ) Seriously, if the pro club is providing the funding, like they are for DA, I think it is great. I'm not in favor of OCYS increasing fees on the lower level teams so that they can provide free soccer to the upper level teams, even if I benefit from it. I would want them to provide the opportunity for someone who can't afford it.

agree 100% OC is required to provide these services the problem is OC wants our money and to provide the services so it ends in their favor.

Most every DA program in the Country is fully funded so Free soccer for DA is not news. MLS requires all MLS Clubs to pay for Development Academy so again NOT news. OC reports this news as if they are doing us all a purple favor. Get over yourself OC.

If you provided Free Soccer to the entire community you still would not get our family on board.

So basically every club is against OC. What about FCA? FCA was gonna merge last year. I wonder if OC messed with that merger. I wonder if FCA is upset about losing a coaching director who was recruited during the first round of State Cup this time last year.

OC has clearly gotten the message.... They need to play nice or local clubs will unite against them. They have successfully bullied Rush and CFK over that last year and assumed they would be able to steam roll the rest of central florida. They were clearly wrong.
