I see people who don't accept change well. The minute someone isn't put on a pedestal or asked to adjust the way they do things, they leave and start a new club. If CFK was so perfect, why the need for a merger. I read earlier and do remember that the club was afraid they were going to lose coaches and players. They didn't merge for the right reasons.

There were a few reasons. HM saw a chance to use someone else's money to grow a club through mergers rather than "building it". He also had the $100,000 debt that FKKrazy keeps trying to dispute. CFK was a good club but not positioned to dominate Central Florida. At the time Rush and FCA were winning more titles and advancing more players to ODP and college. HM decided to join ranks with OC rather than right them as he knew Phil would buy FCA and/or Rush to build his club. HM had just won approval for ECNL so CFK was the most attractive to OC. The problem was their debt kept them from taking control of the youth program and HM was relegated to a lesser role. The badmouthing among the CFK coaches started immediately and the lot of them were shown the door. Parents feeling left out of club decisions followed HM and his coaches to FKK. Pretty simple really. A failed merger that put the OC ECNL program back two-years. Time to move on. Everyone is where they should be now so nothing to sit around and bitch about FKK.

One aspect forgotten is the fact OCYS's directorship brought in a crop of incompetent coaches to fill the holes they created in the ECNL, after they chased off everyone that disagreed with them. Pissed off customers have a tendency to find other places to do business. The exodus was their doing.

They bought it for $107k and now own its lousy results. The ECNL program has been setback at least 4 years because of the naïve actions of the directorship. If ECNL keeps them around that long?

OCYS ECNL Goal Diffrential - AWFUL

Last year in 77 games played GD of -12

This year 68 games played with a -124 GD

Hard to refute the fact that last year, the now FKK teams, were 10 times more competitive than the current OCYS teams.

Did you really read the article, or did you just look at the headline. there is no proof one way or the other in this article. The article says that they don't want to have to get rid of clubs, but if they have to then they will. As of this article they hadn't had their meeting yet to decide if they would exclude clubs or not. I will give you a couple quotes from it.

Basketball communities? Really? That is downright laughable. Basketball communities! Why I bet parks and rec sat down and said, "where do we have the most people playing basketball." Somebody do a survey on basketball players in the community. I need stats!

Ever notice how each gym is in a different district for each commissioner of Orange County? Hmmmmm. Think there may be a connection there Ace! The same thing will happen with OC fields. Each Commissioner will target a poor area where there is space or county land to build a soccer field. That is how it is done in government.

Orlando City's ID camp was a bust

OC Girls ID camp= 22 kids and just 2 college coaches who sprinted out of the complex so quickly causing one of them to suffer a pulled hamstring. The Good news was the financial impact of the College coaches medical cost. OC is trying to take credit as we speak in a conversation with the City of Lake Mary.

OC Boys ID camp= 32 kids and 3 college coaches. This was a disappointment since OC does brag about the boys side.

FKK is now on Deck- First College session starts tonight Friday @ 6:30pm Been told FKK has 4 College Goal Keeper coaches attending plus the U17 USA National team keeper coach running the Keeper portion tonight.

Starting Saturday Morning at 8am The Girls College ID sessions will be at Central Winds Park

Starting Saturday Morning at 8am The Boys College ID sessions will be at Shane Kelly Park

Not with FKK or OCYS yet, but considering both for next year on the girls side. I'm sure the FKK college ID camp will be better run and more successful than OCYS's recent event -- no contest. FKK seems to be the better run club (at least the girls youth program), but FKK does not have ECNL and, for college aspirations, HM's opinion of a player seems to be the single most important factor. A difficult choice with pros and cons on each side.

Great observation. Perfect summary to base your decision on. OC has ECNL but not the best players or an understanding of how to make the most out of ECNL. FKK has the best players but as you stated will heavily depend on what HM thinks of them. If your kid is valued by HM then the decision is simple. Of course we are talking about the elite players here.

I have looked at FKK staff on their website and it leaves much room for questions on who they are. Asked around the area and possibly one name is known for developing and competing. Who are these men and why not any women coaches?

Here's the reality, It is easy to get kids if you require your own club to register for an id event.
