The gyms are spread across the county. The Meadow Woods facility is south of Orlando International Airport, and a trio of gyms sit close to the county's State Road 50 spine, with one on Apopka-Vineland Road near Silver Star Road, another on Goldenrod Road near Aloma Avenue, and a west Orange site near State Road 429. The South Econ site is south of Curry Ford Road

I see people who don't accept change well. The minute someone isn't put on a pedestal or asked to adjust the way they do things, they leave and start a new club. If CFK was so perfect, why the need for a merger. I read earlier and do remember that the club was afraid they were going to lose coaches and players. They didn't merge for the right reasons.

I was on the board for many years and had the privilege to read over every single merger document in both OC/FSA and OCYS/CFK. I know while you assume. The pro team wouldn't spend $300 to fix the bathrooms let alone over $100,000 on a youth club they didn't even need. They use other peoples money to do things ala sponsors. No one in their right mind would have bought a name "CFK", which is all they got, for $100, 000 let alone smart business men like them.

Nobody is coming for your fields loser. They are a goat pasture just waiting to roll someone's ankle. We have plenty of lighted fields for our elite teams. Had those fields now for quite some time. So we are REALLY talking about the new fields that OC is building now aren't we? And those fields will be in poor neighborhoods just like the Magic Gyms right? And OC is only interested in offering free instruction and free league play to poor kids on those OC fields.

Furthermore, you lack to mention that not one single club has lost their status while the league has continued to expand. So you are the one that is not only ignorant but a true FKKrazy. Really, settle down. Where the Magic built their gyms has zero to do with where there is space for new fields and where the county wants them to be built. Many will be way out in East Orange county.

Agreed. ECNL won't "endlessly expand". That would be completely counter-productive to maintaining "exclusivity" as the hallmark of the brand. At some point- just as demonstrated in the letter- the league will begin to remove underperforming clubs that don't demonstrate an ability or desire to adhere to ECNL policies and replace with new.

Note that a win-loss record is not the only criteria. It's not just a matter of cutting losing clubs. The ECNL is about much more than wins- it's a club-based philosophy of training and development. I could see a club that is committed to ECNL values but struggling to win being retained, while a club with better stats but no commitment to ECNL philosophy being shown the door.

You have no idea how government works do you? Why do you think those Magic gyms were built where they were? This is about County Commissioners going back to their constituents and showing them how they are looking out for their interest.

Basketball communities? Really? That is downright laughable. Basketball communities! Why I bet parks and rec sat down and said, "where do we have the most people playing basketball." Somebody do a survey on basketball players in the community. I need stats!

Ever notice how each gym is in a different district for each commissioner of Orange County? Hmmmmm. Think there may be a connection there Ace! The same thing will happen with OC fields. Each Commissioner will target a poor area where there is space or county land to build a soccer field. That is how it is done in government.
