I realize it makes you feel better to pretend OCYS is failing but talent has continued to come to OCYS all season. It will again next year too but you have your little message board!! Type until your little fingers are content. I'll even help you feel better!!
Oooohhhh OCYS sucks!!!!! Don't play for them!! Go to FKK and get a top Div I scholarship with your recreational talent!! HM is the only way!!!
Feel better now?

During CASL trip why were your girls at OCYS not sitting with each other? Where was the laughter? Wins and losses aside, this is a team sport where life long relationships are built and you sat alone or with parents.
It is nice to say ECNL. It's a status deal and it does mean you can play the game. Better than all? No but who is?
Did you notice the FKK shuffle where the kids ditched parents to be with their team? There is a reason entire teams departed together and it isn't about status. It's about the team, enjoying each other, and opportunity. As you can tell, ECNL does provide opportunity but FKK does as well.
It is an atmosphere. Family and friends and it's what we thought was lacking and why we joined FKK with not so much as a league to play in. Getting told to pound salt all the time contributed but Wont go negative. FKK promised nothing and delivered big time and look forward to another couple seasons.
It was just something I observed. Maybe I am wrong but if you are objective and noticed how the FKK girls interacted with each other there seemed to be a difference. I for one hope I am wrong as these kids should be having fun regardless of a score.
You love OCYS that's great maybe it is working for you. Just know you have options and opportunity. If you don't like FKK for some reason, at least recognize the value of having another option close to home. Good luck.
What is troubling is this desire to get on the OCYS thread and constantly try and change the club and parents you left. Those that stayed understood the culture of the club. As explained many times on TS, this is the typical European structure. The parents are not as involved, the focus is on attracting the best talent and the objective is to build a development pipeline for the pro team.
In Europe, Africa, Asia and South America, the focus in on academy development to the pro game. Yes, very few actually make it. It is also true they have far more development leagues and are not just focused on making U18, U20 or U23 National Teams like we are in the US. The pro game actually extends to local clubs and the structure is much different in other countries.
We can go back and forth endlessly about which system is better for Central Florida. I can talk about the benefits of full scholarship soccer for the DA which has parents paying very little out of pocket for what FKK charges $1500 for currently. You can talk about the community you have built and the happiness of your players and parents.
At some point, sports becomes serious. A kid has to make the decision to put everything on the line to play at the highest levels. That has nothing to do with a kid or parent being happy. I agree that the club should strive to make kids and parents happy up until U13. After that, it becomes about getting the best kids together and developing them to win on both an individual and team level. It is dog eat dog and I think some parents were put off by the "put up or shut up" expectation of DA and ECNL culture. Let's face it. Some of these kids are soccer gypsies offering their skills to the teams that give them the best chance to rise to the next level. Team loses, they move to the next club. These kids expect to be seen by the top scouts and expect to play at the highest level be it ID2, ODP, National Team or Academy. They are not in it to make friends and life long memories. That ended at U12. Now it is about being the most visible and playing with the best. The same thing has been going on for years with FCA, SCU, TBU, Sunrise, Pinecrest and JFC. Kids leave the club they developed with to play with better players on a bigger stage. That is soccer in the rest of the world and that is where OCYS is headed.
I really don't see a problem. If you want close knit community soccer, go play for FKK. If your kid wants to see how far they can progress in the sport, OCYS now has a development pipeline straight to MLS and soon to NWSL. Yes, it is a long hard road and few will make it, but isn't that what choice is all about? I mean if my kid just wanted to play with her friends and build good memories, she would still be playing for the local club we left. BTW - there is a possibility she could return to that club if OCYS proves to not be best for what she wants out of the game.
It is an individual decision and the choices are clear.

If that is what you built, then I think you have found happiness.

1- you didn't "build" a club. The English in effect tried to buy one, then ended up stealing it. Claims to the contrary won't wash with anyone who was there. You might be able take advantage of fading memories some day, but until then, spare us the revisionist history.
2. OCYS has not produced any results worth noting. Nothing about the club and all it's marketing driven hype stands up to the facts. The record is mediocre at best, and generally poor, considering the massive advantages it started with. Your DA is not really special at all, your ECNL is at the bottom of the table, your "system" can't even produce a handful of teams qualified for the Disney Showcase. Other clubs- not just FKK, run rings around your feeble college recruiting.
What you have is an MLS franchise. Congratulations. But explain to us what that means for youth soccer, other than a gauzy connection from the front office to a parent's wallet through a little boys' dream?

'your ECNL is at the bottom of the table,'
U18- #4
U17- #5
U16- #8
U15- #8
U14- #4
Seems to me that someone needs to stop talking out of their butt. Sure, we have 2 teams that haven't faired great, but the other 3 seem to be doing quite well.

OCYS's cumulative record to date is 16 wins, 40 losses and 7 ties with a goal differential of -118 with only 1 of 5 teams having a positive goal differential which is only +1. Facts are facts.

Having a 500 record is not doing quite well, it is doing OK. I don't think that you can even say that the other two aren't "fairing great", they are at the bottom and have won just 1 game and scored 5 goals in 26 games. That has got to be very frustrating for those kids as well as the parents.

You're right, because last years dream teams faired so much better than this years teams. You are just looking for any excuse to say how much these young ladies suck and try to back up all the bashing that took place at the beginning of the season. Say whatever you want. Last years rankings are not better than this years rankings, and that is just burning your ass isn't it?
Last years standings are as follows:
U18- #7
U17- #7
U16- #2
U15- #8
U14- #9
So, how 'bout them apples?
