I'm not "ranting". I was holding a discussion with a couple other posters on a subject of the thread. It seems that some folks are getting angry and calling names, or referring to my posts as "drivel". That's okay with me- nobody has to take my advice. We're all anonymous here and free to disagree.

I wish you wouldn't get so emotional, though.

See? here's the problem- the other poster asked why I was so interested in this issue. I gave a complete and honest answer. But it doesn't fit your pre-conceived idea of an antagonist, so you claim it's BS.

If you'd go back and read objectively the points i suggested for the club to take, you might realize there's no animosity in the suggestions- I was answering a question posed by another anonymous person- "what would you have them do"?. Very simple and objective answer- but you're looking for a fight.

How can you state the assumptions are false, when we have "no knowledge whatsoever of what the club has discussed, what the club has already done, and what the club intends to go going forward."??? Maybe the assumptions are TRUE.

And if you have DIFFERENT knowledge, why won't you share it? what's the big secret about the club's position concerning a coach who charged the pitch, confronted a referee, got into a physical altercation, hed the police called and the match canceled?

Does the club disapprove of the coach's actions? If so, why not fire him and say so? What's the big secret? Are they protecting him for soem reason?

Is the Technical Director in charge of tournaments? Is he responsible for handling the club's response to the referee-choking matter? What does the TD do?

it's not "serious research". It's an interest I have. I am in business, and I am involved in youth soccer through my kids. I have been a member of several clubs (including OCYS), and I am interested in how these businesses run- from the all-volunteer style of casual club to the larger paid professional clubs like this one.

TS is one of the most interesting parts of youth soccer. It's not a place to gather definitive information, but it's a terrific snapshot of the emotion and passion surrounding the sport. TS may be 95% BS (i'd say 85%), but there is definitely things to be learned here, and it's fun to occasionally have real discussions.

I see you as being very excited about him losing his job. He coaches my kid. If he ever loses his job at OC, I don't think he would flip out and start another club like some. I think he would continue to coach at least. I personal think he will continue to work at OC but just for the sake of your arguemet, that is what I think wold happen.

I see you as being very excited about him losing his job. He coaches my kid. If he ever loses his job at OC, I don't think he would flip out and start another club like some. I think he would continue to coach at least. I personal think he will continue to work at OC but just for the sake of your arguemet, that is what I think wold happen.

GB is a good coach, but a bad Tech Director. Fact is he doesn't really want to be the Tech Director that bad. He just wants to coach his teams and pay attention to his teams and that is making him a bad TD. There's nothing wrong with that but it shouldn't sacrifice others.
And GB couldn't start his own club. He isn't bright enough or savvy enough to do it on his own. Everything he has ever gotten was by riding the coat tails of someone else in both his business and soccer. Ask the many people that have known him for years and grew up with him in the Oviedo/Winter Springs area and they will all tell you the same thing.

At present there are those who do have factual knowledge. And with that knowledge it can be said that your assumptions are false.

Given the gravity of the incident, it would be highly inappropriate and unprofessional to "share" factual knowledge on an anonymous and public forum regarding any of the actions or consequences in place or pending, particularly regarding the individuals involved.

For now, suffice it to say that all those who need to be informed or involved have been, and continue to address the incident.

Actually compared to bad mouthing kids like GB does, bad mouthing coaches like GB does, bad mouthing parents like GB does then the person who posted this may well be a saint. If OC is ever going to be considered a real club around this town then he has to go. Who cares if he coaches it does not matter and by the way if you know anything you know on the boys side he has never coached anyone above the age of 13 until now! Not what anyone would call special unless you talk to Mrs. Brick.
