The Labor Day tournament that OCYS elected to go to this year is just as bad in terms of number of teams as most of the teams signed up are from OCYS. I'm sure OCYS will say it's not our fault but they entered into an agreement with a few clubs to support each other in hopes the clubs profit from increased tournament fees and in the end the paying members of their club are left to suffer because they do not have any quality competition to play and will end up spending upwards of $500 on a weekend of crappy soccer. But all of this will be forgotten because the directors will go on marketing blitz and flood everybody with information on how great they are and how bad everybody else is that don't actively support them. I have many friends at OCYS and honestly don't wish anybody anything but the best of luck. I also was actively rooting for some OCYS teams this weekend at Disney so I'm not an OCYS hater. I just don't believe all the hype as I like to question things and I question how such a professionally run youth soccer club can make so many mistakes when it comes to tournaments.

After last years experience at Lakewood ranch, where we had 1 and let me repeat 1 good game, I will it spend my hard earned money there. The field was crap, the parking sucked and my hotel was $145 a night plus tax. Crappy room btw.

The TV wouldn't be in the house had I not brought it. When we decided to shack up, you agreed that if I brought the TV, you would also accept my cat and my goldfish- and that we would keep the same programs scheduled to record on the DVR that I had.
So i brought the TV and the cat and the fish, but as soon as the TV was on the wall, you flushed the fish down the toilet and starved the cat which ran away. Then you erased all my episodes of "The Walking Dead" and "Fox Soccer report" and replaced them with "Real Housewives of Miami".
I asked you to replace the fish with one of equal value, and you provided a cockroach. I asked you to re-schedule the DVR as we agreed and you added "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" instead of Fox Soccer report. Then you told me I was a whiny malcontent and I oughta leave.
Okay, well I'm leaving. But I'm taking MY flat screen- which I worked hard to get in the first place. I've also written to the landlord about what a lowlife you are- and what you're doing to his property. I'm also gonna reuinite with the cat you tried to starve- he turns out to know more about the TV anyway and he's good friends with the landlord, too.

OCYS Labor Day Debacle
Why would a professional soccer club try to schedule against Disney.
Most of the lower age group teams played at Disney last week. Do they need another tournament next week? Ahhh... No.
Most of the upper age group teams are playing at Disney over Labor Day in the Qualifier. How are those teams playing going to play in two tournaments in the same weekend.
Ahhh... no again.
OCYS is getting out marketed by "real" marketing geniuses.

I will talk about my last experience at Ed radice. We stayed almost 35 minutes away because there are only a handful of hotels near the complex. We played 4 games and 3 were considered blow outs. One game of quality. I understand a tournament can not guarantee who registers but this has been my experience with both of kids at that tournment over the last few years. I am happy to say my sons team will not be traveling to Tampa. We will be in the junior showcase at thanksgiving and that is generally a good event even though we pay though the nose for that. I am a little disillusioned with the tournaments we have in Florida. There aren't a solid number of teams in my kids age group so we always end up playing an age group up. I am very tired of spending tons of money to see my kids team mercy rule a team or them get beat up by older teams when we play up. My last kid had a little more even experience but this time it seems the gap between good and not good is widening. The only neutral tournament is Disney so I think it is your best bet for at least good teams to play.

65% of the teams registered to your "tournament" are from OCYS. If the purpose of the tournament is to raise funds for the club just raise your fee as it would be simpler.
