maybe OC should recruit better from day one with players they know will be with club for season or as we all can see USL just like PDL is a developemental league. The average soccer fan has no clue what really good soccer looks like.

Someone posted a few days ago if OC does get MLS these players and coaches will be looking for another job; that poster was right on target including our developmental coach
Agreed. I also think local folks who see the DA as a ticket to playing pro are in for a real surprise as the MLS team simply imports talent from elsewhere in the country, and the DA brings kids from Africa on scholarship.

The local youth are a revenue generator to support the DA's overseas rcruting. It's been happening since last year.

      Columbus Day Tournament Update:

      The Math: 72% interclub scrimmages!

        Seminole County

Why is the county board considering a $2.0 million handout, over ten years, to Orlando City? Just because they practice in Seminole County? The county is giving them $200,000 per year for 10 years because they will have soccer tournaments that will fill hotel nights? My kid plays for OCYS and this seems sketchy to me. If I remember correctly from my FSA days the operating expense of the complex was $180,000 per year. Looks like Seminole County is funding the operating expenses for the 11 fields in OCYS complex for the next 10 years.

If that's the case my OCYS kid will be guest playing somewhere else that weekend.

Interesting and begs another question. If Orlando City (pro club) is managing the OCYS facility then OCYS (FSA 2.0) a not for profit business entity?

Seems like the purple Lion is trying to have it both ways.

When it suits the story, OC Pro claims it "owns" 11 fields. Other times, it says the youth club "owns" the fields. Depends on who they're talking to.

Call your County leaders. How many hotels rooms in Seminole County does inter club scrimmages bring to our economy.

asking for additional $2 Million from Seminole County for putting heads in beds based on overwhelming response to tournaments at Seminole Complex.

TBU soccer club with over 400 teams playing over Columbus day should be getting $10 Million dollars from Tampa leaders if this was the case.

Why does Orlando City seem to be asking everyone for money.

This is just youth soccer and supposed to be fun!

Car washes and donut sales. Will the kids get any of these dollars or just the marketing machine that has glued many to the purple monster...

they have to pay their attorneys so the cash needed. Threatening coaches putting them up on redicules charges and leagues are told if they do not comply they will meet the wrath of OC.

If you are going to get on here and talk please have your information correct. I understand you are being told otherwise. FKK please tell your parents what is really going on, you can only hide the truth for so long, you already have your letters from everyone.

Whine as you must but I see things changing this year for the better with ocys. I think last year it was WWE and nothing could be done. Here is what I like as a parent; the office is open until 8pm during the week and now on Saturdays. That alone has changed the feel of being able to communicate with someone and get things done. It has solved the majority of the problems I had last year as a parent. I also like the cleat swap that was set up and as last year Eurosport is fantastic for uniforms.

OC has certainly learned from the mistakes of last year. Sorry some had to go through that however our team has had nothing less than a perfect start so far. Thank you OC for stepping up to the plate and changing everything bad from last year.
