Morgan & Morgan Now Running OCYS

Is it just me or has every recent press release on OC website been followed very shortly after with corrections. First ECNL tryouts, then ECNL ID camp now ECNL coaches announcement.
Surely no one is that stupid so it can only be that they are trying to release misinformation and then when they are called out they pull it off. Sounds like a tactic a lawyer would use. As for me, I want my kid playing for soccer folks not the local ambulance chasers. OC you are pathetic.

      Funny...

I was thinking about how the whole ECNL fight ended. I suspected PR must have sent quite a strong-arm lawyer letter to ECNL and forced them to submit. Seems funny that all of a sudden Big Phil has his hands on every announcement and Facebook post from the youth club.

Phil has always had an interest in youth development, unfortunately, dealing with the politics in Tallahassee and dealing with issues on the pro side sapped his time away. I would expect more hands on leadership now that he has the time to focus on the youth side.

The only leadership PR brings to OCYS is his band of lawyers. He has no interest in the youth side unless it benefits his bid for MLS in Orlando. He is a businessman plain and simple. If the youth side didn't give him kudos with the city of Orlando he would never have been involved.
          Lets be realistic here.

So all the crap with ECNL last year can finally be tagged to the lack of involvement of PR? He is solely accountable for OCYS's incompetency? His attention being diverted is why the dumpster fire that is the OCYS (FSA 2.0) was so bad last year?

This is my last year of club soccer. I have heard all the bull**** from DOC's and coaches at tryouts before. Sticking with a team, parents and coaches that best meet the needs of my kid. The best view of OCYS will be seeing the Seminole Soccer Complex in my rear-view mirror as we drive to FKK. One and done with OCYS. Wishing them well with their MLS aspirations, but their management of the youth club is a joke.

Agree! I certainly hope OC brings MLS to Orlando. But there involvement in youth soccer is borderline criminal. Hopefully if MLS is awarded to OC they will pull out of the youth side so they focus on making $$$ and leave youth development to the folks that share the same common goals.

Most of the crap is centered on your hero HM EF and others - their inability to work with others, failure to accurately articulate why a playing style won't work for girls (other than saying it just won't work), and their over estimation of their leverage with ECNL.

Obviously the "English" do not understand Public Relations and communications.

The Fish and Chip mafia actually posted a page on their website quoting HM about ECNL this weekend. The same guy they canned in the middle of the year was used in press release to champion their club and ECNL designation. Quoting your rival, even incorrectly, only increases your rivals credibility.

                    These guys are either:

                    1) stupid
                    2) arrogant
                    3) incompetent
                    4) all of the above

                    My answer is #4..................

Are you kidding me - Orlando was a joke before they got here - club hopping by many coaches, playing favorites, failing to promote on ability, etc.

The problems that people have with OC are the very things they need to be doing to make Youth Soccer in Central Florida better. What have the complaints been here:

                      1) Holding open tryouts without giving players on the current purple team preference - GOOD FOR YOUTH SOCCER

                      2) Holding coaches accountable to a specific system and to their job responsibilities - GOOD FOR YOUTH SOCCER

                      3) Hiring coaches (overall - not all their choices have been perfect) from outside central Florida (or have only been here a couple years) - GOOD FOR YOUTH SOCCER

There is going to be some pain from the changes to the good old boy (and girl) networks - but that is for the better of soccer here in the future.

Soccer is a situation game. You must have the ability to fit the shape and style to the players on the roster. Go to an ECNL event or a women's college soccer tournament and tell me how many other teams are playing 4-2-3-1. Arrogance and standardization does not make it correct, it just shows their lack of awareness to the needs of female athletes.

University of Florida plays a 4-2-3-1.

Item 1 is being done for the sole purpose of trying to lock undecided players into OC and prevent going to other clubs. Don't kid yourself.
Item 2- any soccer person worth their salt knows that 1 size doesn't not fit all for youth boys and girls. Only an English laddie that thinks he knows all would shove that philosophy down a youth clubs throat. It's the easy way out. Takes more effort and time to actually get to know the teams and make recommendations on formations. And GB and AH we're not going to put any time into the girls side. That's a fact.
Item 3- they hired some good some bad but overall nothing to get excited about.

So what can you sue ECNL for? What damages for loss revenue can you recover from a 5 year old not for profit youth league? What could OCYS recover from ECNL in a civil lawsuit? Civil suits are about $$$$. OCYS potentially suing ECNL has almost opportunity for financial gain.

Sour grapes because its working and your political games will no longer have little mia on the top team.

Not all the girls OCYS teams play a 4-2-3-1! How could those coaches make that happen and still have a job? Must be because HM just can't figure out how to work with people unless they are his subordinates and he calls all the shots.
