Your "simple accounts payable" explanation doesn't work. You are saying it is OK that CFK would have had to take 11% of the next year's registration fees to pay for the prior year's expenses. The problem with your explanation is that the parents who are paying next year's registration fees expect you to provide services the next year, and you will incur expenses in order to provide those services. For three years in a row, CFK spent 7%-8% more than they received in revenues, which led to the $107k negative net asset balance. So you are correct that they could probably take 11% of the 2012-2013 registration fees to pay off payables from the prior season. However, unless they change course, the next year they would have had to take 19% of the next year's registration fees. This year, they would have had to take 27% of the 2014-2015 fees to pay for last year's expenses. That isn't a simple accounts payable problem.
